macrotime
Do you know if F-2 holders can study? If yes, can they take courses as non-degree students at colleges or universities? Thanks for your help!
Tino
No. However, if they took a part-time class for non-degree, probably no one will care. Tino
macrotime
Thanks Tino, we've been asking around, and one university answered the following: The U.S. Dept of Homeland Security regulations state that F-2s can not be enrolled full-time, while it does not address the part-time F-2 enrollment issue, but even part-time study might be interpreted by USDHS as something other than "avocational or recreational". Note that you can study part-time that is avocational or recreational in nature (hobbies or study of an occasional, casual or recreational nature. I guess is a matter of interpretation, because cooking classes might be recreational for some and might have a professional objective for others!
