Hi!
As you probably know, when applying for a Visa one has to declare that he is not willing to stay in the US after the Visa period expires. He should also provide some evidence that he has where to return. I have the following interesting question. May a participation in the DV Program (Green Card Lottery), which might be interpreted as willingness to immigrate, be an obstacle for receiving a student visa? ? |

I didn't know that... interesting. They surely increased security on visas (in Brazil for example, you have to go in person for a simple tourist visa)... so nothing surprises me if they tightened the DV program.
Anyway, it seems I know less than you in this case! ![]() Wood |

Doesn't matter, they do not check it. They cannot check it. They do not want to check it. So do not worry about it.
Remember the countries on the DV list are those countries from which very few citizens apply to immigrate to the US, these are not the countries they are worried about. ![]() tino |

Hi
As far as I know, the information they require at DV on line application is not that confidential which allows many (friends or relatives)to apply on behalf of others. All they need is a valid photo . So, who can prove the applicant actually submitted the application or he/she is just the subject of a friend's "bad joke"? Nicole |

..and actually I think thay ask if you ever filed any form to get the immigrant status. I guess you could have problems if you win the DV lottery and send the documents, because in that case you clearly show your intent. If you only sent the form on-line, I don't think that is enough to say that you really wanted to immigrate.
And the "joke" stuff could be a valid reason. Maurizio |

Hi All,
Is it compulsory to return back to one's native country after graduation?? Or are they asking for the purpose of asking?? I would like to work in the USA for work experience and how to go about it?? Any comments?? Thanks. |
