Yes, I think that’s the most common advice from teachers. I’m kind of a perfectionist, and want to know every word I come across. It’s slow going at first, but years down the road, I find that the work returns […]

Hi, summer. I’ve thought about removing the pronunciations, but I’ve had a lot of requests for pronunciations, so I’m probably going to keep them. I’ve been posting more vocabulary words at http://new.testmagic.com/vocab/, so be sure to look over there.
I appreciate the feedback. It means a lot to me. :)

Hi, AnSo. First, I hope I’m answering the question you have. I think the words funky and fetid have different connotations in the US, the former being used more facetiously and the latter being more formal or dated. I think it’d be more common to call something smelly.

I hear various comments over and over: I can’t remember the words I learn, I don’t know a lot of the hard vocabulary words that I see in my reading, I don’t [...] -
Erin commented on the blog post What does “ursine” mean? (With a quiz question!) 2 years ago
Well, honestly, I think that would depend on your perception of bears. If pressed for a simple answer, however, I’d have to say that it’s neither positive nor negative; it’s simply a descriptive term.
