Dear Sir,
Kindly help me answer the following question
asked in a civil service examination in India.
Two test tubes A, B are taken.
They are of the same length and diameter.
In both the test tube water is poured.
The water level is same. The temperature of water in
both the tubes is 4.c
Now tube A is heated.Simultaneously B is cooled.
Now select the correct choice.
1.The water level in both tubes will rise.
2.The water level in both tubes will decrease.
3.The water level in A will increase and that of B will
decrease.
4.The water level in A will decrease and that of B wil
increase.

Thanking you,
Yours faithfully

I think the answer is D for the following reasons:
water density increases on cooling so the level in tube B rises.
When water is heated it expands but the also the water molecules escape from the surface so the water level does not increase but can decrease.

However I am not sure but I will appreciate if u mail the correct answr
