In the chart ques my answer does not actually match with option 'D' but is close to it.This prompted me to go for it.

Reason: In 1970, number of house holds = 2.5 million.

In 1995 it wll be 2.5 + 80% of 2.5 (in millions) = 4.5 million. -----------(1)

Now in 1985 this figure is 3.75 million , hence if you subrtact -------(2)

(2) from (1) it comes out to be 0.75 million that is close to choice 'D'.

in Ques 2 , Choice 'C' is correct.It just needs some calculation work.

I don't think that D is the answer.....

Could u plz check again bcoz the attachment is showing D as your answer, not the "show Correct" answer.

Second one, C is right.

I am saying that 'D' can be the answer correct. I arrived at an answer close to 'D' . that is 75 units.

What do you say?

Okay, for the first question:

In 1970, there are 2.5 million # of house holds (millions has 6's zero, so 2.5 million will be 2500000) . Now that you know 1970 to 1995 has about 80% increase in # of house hold, so you can do the following:

2500000 * (180/100)

= 1995's # of house hold = 4500000

Now, you need to estimate the # of house hold in 1985, let say it is around 3.7 millions. Now, the question asks what will be increase # from 1985 to 1995, see, all you need to do is to:

4500000-3700000 ======> 700000.

Now for the second question:

average for w, x, y is 9.

step 1) (w+x+y)/3 = 9

step 2) w+x+y = 27

step 3) 2w-y+3x+6+3y-x = an unkown result

step 4) rewrite the left side hand equation

step 5) 2 (w+y+x+3) / 3 = an unknown result

step 6) sub step 2) into step 5)

answer: 2 (27+3)/ 3 ===> 2(30)/3 ===> 20

I thinks that the answer of first question is C and the answer of second question is 20
