1) A 20-foot ladder leaning against a vertical wall with the base of the ladder 10 feet from the wall is pulled 2 feet farther out from the wall, causing the top of the ladder to drop x feet

let's h_1 be a distance from ground to a point where ladder sticks to the wall (just height)

let's h_2 be the same, but after ladder's movement

so x = h_1 - h_2

now, we can use Pitagorem Theorem to count heights, and get x

h_1 = sqrt(20^2 - 10^2) = 10 sqrt(3); it is approximatelly 10*1,73 = 17,3

h_2 = sqrt(20^2 - 12^2) = 16

x= h_1 - h_2 =approximatelly= 17,3 - 16 = 1,3 < 2

hence A<B (answer B)
