Can someone kindly explain the following problems to me. I don't understand how to do it. It may seem very simple to many of you. Thanks in advance.

Question #1
A 16 inch-fuse on a stick of dynamite burns at a rate of 1 inch per 20 seconds. What percent of the fuse remains after it has burned for four minutes?

A) 25%
B) 33 1/3 %
C) 50%
D) 66 2/3%
E) 80%

Question #2
If 4/9 = x/3 then x=

A) 9/4
B) 4/3
C) 1
D) 3/4
E) 4/27

1) 1 inch per 20 seconds… this means 3 inches per 60 seconds, I mean a minute
So we have 3 inches / minute
Finally after 4 minutes 12 inches of the dynamit burnt… remain 4 inches which didn’t burn…
4/16 = 0.25 = 25%… The right answer is A

2) x = (4 * 3) / 9 = 4/3 .. The right answer is 4/3, B
