View Full Version : Do I need to prepare for hard math for the GRE?

02-07-2003, 04:56 AM
I recently heard that in the Quant section of GRE questions on topics of conics (ellipse, parabola prperties), permutations / combinations, statistics, probability are asked and they carry maximum weightage of marks.

I found no reference of the above in even Math Review i dwnld from gre website also the no paper of GRE BigBook has any questions on them ..

So should i prepare for the above topics or not ?

All those who have taken the new format test after 31st Oct guide me on preparation of Quant Section ..

THx in Advance

I answered the new GRE(in Jan) I did get about 2-3 questions on conics. As far as my GRE i found that the type of questions were distributed among all the topics.I think you should prepare for it to avoid any last minute surprises.
