View Full Version : IS more than 1 attempt detrimental?

i have heard that, if one takes more than 1 atemp at GRE, then the american universities, consider the average score and sometimes weightd average,

if this is true,
one could be ina sever situation if one obtains a good score in 1 attempt and a bad score in another, sinec in that situation one would get a medium average...

and what about weighted averages? which attemot has more weightage?

I never knew that that is how they get the average. Where did you hear this from? But if it is true medium average... I guess would be the best.

Most of the schools that I've dealt with are looking for the highest scores you get.

Of course, there are many advantages to getting your highest score on on only one test, but that might not be a realistic possibility.

Interesting what you mentioned there Erin:p. That they look for the highest scores. I thought that they rather look for the average.
