Hi
I have a problem with the question 6 of the blue print about the enantiomorphs. I would say 7 but the answer is 6. Can you explain why?

(CH3)2– CH – CH2 – C – (CH3)3

Number of derivatives of replacement of Cl with H on green C : 1
Number of derivatives of replacement of Cl with H on pink C: 2 ( enantiomers are considered different derivatives)
Number of derivatives of replacement of Cl with H on blue C: 2 ( enantiomers are considered different derivatives)
Number of derivatives of replacement of Cl with H on black C: 1

The sum: 6 monochloro derivatives

Good luck!:grad:

Thanks Pharm D but if you change an H on pink and black C, you won't have an asymmetrical C so no enantiomorph, it's not working. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If you change an H on black C you won't have enantiomorph. But if you change an H on pink C, there are two options: 1)isomer S 2)isomer R

Hope it helps.
