Which of the following is oxidised without breaking c-c ?

a) aldol
b) ketone
c) aldehyde
d)1 o alcohol

can anybody please explain.

I think alcool and aldehyde can be oxidized.

thr is no c-c bond formed in oxidation
alcohol oxid to aldehide which is oxid to carboxilic acid
keton cant go further oxidation
aldehide oxid to carboxilic acid
aldol as a compound its a carbonyl adjacent to a beta alcohol and the alcohol could be 2edary or 3ery so whn oxidized give keton

but thr is something called aldol condensation which C-C bond happens in it, which is condensation of 2 carbonyl compounds and a new C-C bond is being formed, so may be question is miss written wanted which results in c-c bond formation!?!?!?

cherry, are you saying that the answer should be aldol
