I love that picture, btw.

Congratulations, Irvine is a great city. You can eat off the sidewalks there it's so clean.

Nice. What are your interests?

Nice. What are your interests?

My interests in economics are in micro theory, IO, and perhaps some transportation. I worked in the airline industry after I graduated. Although I also applied to systems engineering and operations research programs as well, so I have a big decision to make. Choices are a good thing. Thanks to everyone for the congratulations, I hoping everyone gets an admit they are pleased with. Who knows, we may be working together 5-10 years down the road. I want go drink some beers to celebrate, but instead I'm "studying" (read: playing on TM) for a measure theory final on Monday.

Congrats!

I'm at UCI right now and I am enjoying the Econ program...both the coursework and the people.

...we have the Institute of Mathematical and Behavioral Social Sciences (IMBS), directed by Don Saari (a real stand-up guy and super smart...he was the one who taught 'math camp' for us). He manages to get a ton of really good people here to speak on math stuff (sorry its my night off, I've been working on Bayesian econometrics all day)..a few weeks ago we had Luce, Raiffa, Shapley, and Schelling here (along with some other top notch guys) to speak about the evolution of the game theory field...

It seems like there is always something going on, as far as speakers, seminars and conferences (either within the department or inter-department events)...I wish I had time to go listen to more of them.

Anyway, good luck on the rest of your admissions!

It sounds like they've exceeded the socially efficient level of pollution abatement.

Crap, if I knew their logo has an anteater in it, I would've applied too.
