Great! I know european programs are not as popular as US programs in this forum, but I am very happy now.

So now I am relaxed :-)

No I am not a scandinavian but I watched the 13th warrior some weeks before I registered to this forum and those courageous warriors who talked about Valhalla all the time inspired me :-)

Congrats, Tilburg is a good school with good faculty. Plus a 40 min train ride away from Amsterdam. That's always a good stress reliever.

It definitely takes longer than 40 min... At least 1.5 hours:)

Congratulations anyway! But I am a bit surprised that you have received the phd offer so early. As far as I know, the faculty would have a meeting at the end of this month, and the results would be annouced in early March(at least that was the case for inside applicants).

And by the way, Phd students in the Netherlands are considered as employees instead of students, so the way they got paid is not by scholarship, but by salary(1450 euros per month after tax, which is really generous:).

I hope you are talking about the MPhil (the coursework part of CentER's Doctoral Program). If that is the case, I got in too. Received the offer on Februrary 1 (the one on gradcafe). UvT-CentER is a great school and The Netherlands a great country.

This is a great admit. I found on their website that they have top professors and some hot shots visit their often--see their extramural fellow group, which includes the likes of List, Cuikerman, and Wakker.

Hi!!

Have you also applied to Tinbergen Institute? Why /why not?

Do you know the current ranking of these graduate programs?

I am also in at Tilburg...and Tinbergen.

Congrats to you!

Is it helpful ? Before reading it I was confident about Tilburg; but after discussing the issue I have been thrown to the abyss of indecision :hmm:  :yuck:

Asianeconomist, of course it is helpful. Although after reading all, I became confused, I am happier because...

I know a bit more about Tİlburg. I am indecisive not because I am not well informed but because I know a lot more about it. This makes difference. Now I try to make a decision out of what I know..

Have talked to the people at GSS? It helps a lot..

You can PM me if you like..

The M.Phil program in Tilburg definitely gets recognition and approval to U.S grad schools. One piece of evidence: this year two M.Phil students got admitted by top 10 PhD programs in the States(Northwestern and Harvard).
