i am unable to get rid of the files that were installed through a chinese site - http://www.downdowndown.net
these files are saved in the windows folder/system32
everytime I detele them they reappear.
i'm really getting worried now as they appear to be some sort of virus.

Can someone please advise on how to get rid of these files.

    thanks,

    Hey angles...

Have you tryed deleting the whole folder? If you have no other important material in that folder that might be one option if the solution doesn't go away..

Also would you happen to have any virus protection scanners on your computer ? ( norton etc..)

If so you could run them and they'll scan your database and figure out wether this is an virus or something else.

It would not be wise to delete that folder, as that folder is a vital part of your operating system. In fact, I believe that Windows would not even let you delete it.

At any rate, I don't think the site itself installs files--it's probably Windows or IE auto-installing fonts for you to be able to read the site.

What are the file names? They may be part of your OS.

Yes, windows is infact not letting me delete these files or folders.

the path to these files is:

    C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/IME

The IME folder has 3 sub folders namely:
    CINTLGNT (no files)
PINTLGNT (files in this are: pmigrate, imscinst and pintlphr)
TINTLGNT (files are: tmigrate, tintsetup and tintlphr)

on deleting the above mentioned 3 folders a message comes saying
" cannot delete the folder as it is being used by another person or programme".
and the files reappear even after deleting.

    Please advice.

    thanks,
    angel

Why not try contacting the website onwers and see if they can assist with help deleting the files..

(Most likely windows that installs the files as Erin said but there is an possibility that the site did)
