A nation should require all of its students to study the same national curriculum until they enter college.

Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the recommendation and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, describe specific circumstances in which adopting the recommendation would or would not be advantageous and explain how these examples shape your position

Many countries like England, Singapore, China, Italy, Korea, etc. have made it possible to provide a National curriculum. But still countries with heavy population and many states its tough to provide National curriculum. Providing same education to every state students of a country is the best possible gift a country would give to its men, but it can create problems too on he other hand.

Educating every student in the equal manner will bring Unified educational front, which will as a result give each state of that nation the same standard. Hence, the level of education among the states of a country/nation cannot be discerned in regard to its future development. Providing a national curriculum across the nation would bring out the differences in the teaching disciplines in each state. A comparison of state by state will lead to the improvement in the standards of the schools in every state. The strengths and weaknesses among the teaching methodology of each state can be discussed and standardized. As a result, the nation gets an ultimate standard in its schools, all over the world.

The Nation’s student’s performance in standardized tests like ACT, SAT, etc. will be consistent. Since the education provided to each child will be similar in all respects, so will be his/her mental ability to analyze, think and answer. All of the children will be evolving mentally in the same pace, with no difference. Moreover, the children whose homes are shifted from one state to another do not have to worry about their shift in education system.

Feasibility of the National curriculum is the major barrier. Among the various states inside a Nation, differences in the making of common rules and problems with its execution exists at a inordinate amount. In countries like USA, where the change in season, weather, climate, etc. in each state differs to a great extent, the decision of issues like, starting of school, amount of holidays to be given, etc. is a difficult task. In the rural areas of the nation, the teachers may not be as efficient as the teachers of the urban schools. If the education has to be equally provided, its obvious that the educators have to be equal in their knowledge level.

Each state has different cultural values in most of the countries. Education system will be influenced by the distinction in the cultures which would be hard to be controlled. Each state will have slight differences in the curriculum according to their comfort which might effect the unity in the education system. Expecting same disciplines among government, private, charter , etc. schools is not possible. Hence, the countries with excessive size of land and population will have trouble in supporting and providing National curriculum.

A nation with its students having same national curriculum can withdraw the differences among the children of each state but it would bring in discrepancies among the laws of the states and disadvantages in the accomplishment of national curriculum may exist.

your essay contents are good and impressive but you didn't take the position whether you agree or not agree. You have to state your opinion in the first/introductory paragraph.

Furthermore, I am taking GRE on first or second August. We can exchange our essays and comments on that.
