are older GRE prep book as good as the new editions?

    Sponsored Ad:
i found some barrons and princeton review books at the library (not too outdated...they were 2005) and was wondering if i should bother reading them and using the practice tests? has the gre changed much since 2005?

i already have a few new editions- i have the princeton review classroom book, as well as barrons frequently used words book, etc.

what does everyone think about usage of sightly older prep books?

Depends on which section your talking about. If its verbal and AWA, then you can use the older material because there has been no significant change.

And as for quant, Princeton review and bigbook don't reflect the current standard. I would rely on barron's and powerprep quant for practice.

2005 is probably fine, although quant does seem to get harder all the time. So it might be worth getting a new book at least for quant. I have PR's math workbook and would recommend it.

    Couldn't hurt.
I've got the GRE to study for, and if you're reading this I've managed to successfully avoid doing it...
