The given pie chart shows the number of visitors to a local cinema according to age in 2000.
The chart illustrates and compares the popularity of cinema visiting among different group of ages. We can see that people aged 55 and older are the most popular visitors, about half (51%) of local cinema visitors are from this age. People aged between 10-15 get in the second place of popularity as about 21% of the total local cinema visitors number are among those ages. Then, with about 6% less than the last group the third group comes, they are people of ages between 16-20 they are not commonly go to cinema. Also from the presented data in the chart we can see the two groups of ages that rarely go to the local cinema they are the people which aged between 21-30 and between 31-45 as the summation of their percentages doesn't exceed 13%, people aged 21-30 get 8% while whom aged 31-45 the lowest percentage 5% of the total visitor number.

Cell phones have changed the way we communicate
It is definitely obvious fact, that nowadays modern communication technologies such as cell phones are surprisingly developed and scientists are trying their best to ease our life than we have or had.
Firstly, in previous centuries people could not communicate with one another at a long distance in a few seconds. People hired carriers to send the letters to the destination place. Moreover, it took them a week, month or year to be delivered to the target person and they did not use to be done frequently. However today we can phone the friends, parents, business partners or others easily.
Secondly, with the help of the social applications for instance: Viber, WhatsApp, Skype, Tango, Facebook programs, downloaded in our devices not only we can phone any person having the same programs installed in the telephones without any charge all over the world, if the internet or Wi-Fi is available, but also send them video or text messages . Thanks to the video calling, we can see the relatives whom we miss or have not met for ages. Additionally, developing these kinds of technologies also enables us to acquaint with new people.
Finally, the examples and arguments given above show, that mobiles have changed society’s lifestyle cardinally. I strongly believe that scientists will advance today’s technologies. As widely-known, Skype has already innovated translator device which interprets speeches from English in Spanish and vice-versa and it provides clear communication between the English and Spanish speaking natives. In my view, scholars also will also invent a similar device for mobiles and the last one will solve many communication problems.

Re: Get your IELTS essay checked and graded for free

    Hello,

I would like to check my essay for general writing task - 2

The topic is : What are the advantages and disadvantages of technology in human life ?

My answer for same is :

This essay will explore the advantages and disadvantages of how technology has affected human lives. Over the last two decades, people have witnessed tremendous changes in their lives due to the technology. While this changes has lead to our life and work more convenient. It is also true that it comes with the several negative impacts also.

One of the major changes which technology has made is the concept of multitasking. For example, you can check your emails while picking items from the grocery store or can attend a business conference while taking care for sick child at home. Another change which I would like to highlight is the possibility of faster communication. For an instance, if child needs any urgent help then s/he can call parents or ask for permission to do something over the phone.

Nothing comes without the cost so as the technology also has some drawbacks. Before the use of technology in our routine lives, we were closer to our family, friends and relatives, we used to meet once in a week or in a month, seat together for dinner and discussed what is going on the life or so. But now days it happens only once in a while coz everyone are more connected towards to machines rather to the humans. Life is also not private now because wherever we go , we always feel that someone is watching us or spying on us.

I would like to conclude this with my opinion that we should use technology to make our life easier but must not be heavily dependent on technology. Now choice is of people that what they want to choose.

Re: Get your IELTS essay checked and graded for free

    Hi,

Could anybody please check my essay and tell how much band's worth it has.

A growing number of people feel that animals should not be exploited by people and that they should have the same rights as humans, while others argue that humans must employ animals to satisfy their various needs, including uses for food and research.

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

It is a hot debate nowadays that whether humans should kill animals for their advantage or not. While some people think that it is justifiable, others are of the point of view that this should be banned. This essay will discuss both points and at the end I will conclude it and will give my opinion.

To Begin with, firstly, it is proven fact that animals feel pain in the same way as we feel. As a result of this truth, if a man tortured them, it would be treated as cruelity. As we could observe that many medical students dissect frogs for just experiments, so they are troubling this creature in this way. Thus this is an example of an uncivilized society. Hence, this should be given up and the rights of a safe life should be given to them.

Secondly, animals have the same kind of emotions as humans. This could be observed clearly, when a hen shows his love and affection to her chickens by always keeping them under her features. Therefore, if we harm the hen due to any reason, her babies will suffer, as they will be deprived from their mother. Obviously, this is unethical and immoral. So their rights must be protected.

On the other hand, some people say that it is perfectly alright to use animals for our needs. In this regard, they put forward an argument that we are a superior creature and all other animals are born for satisfying our needs. Consequently, if we need food, it will be fine to slaughter them. In this way we are using them as per law of nature. Therefore, there rights void in such circumstances.

Similarly, if we give them the status same as humans, we will not be able to survive. It is due to the fact, that in many occasions, we need to kill them in order to keep ourselves alive. For example, when we breath, thousands of germs are killed inside our body. On the contrary, if we wished to protect their lives, we would have to stop our respiration system. Thus we would be inviting death in this way which is unacceptable. Hence same right could not be given to them.

In conclusion, both groups have their own arguments in this matter. However, by giving the same rights to animals may lead to many troubles for mankind. For example they cannot enjoy delicious foods in which meat is used. In addition, as in this way, animals will no more be used for the experiments, so invention of different medicines will become impossible. Thus, it is inevitable to use animals for satisfaction of humanity.

Hello! Would you grade it, please?

The continued rise in the world’s population is the greatest problem faced by humanity at the present times. What are the causes of this continued rise?

Do you agree that it is the biggest problem faced by humanity?

The progress in medicine ensured that most people nowadays live long enough to procreate offsprings and the children mortality is low. Scientists estimate that by 2050 there would be 9 billion people living on this planet. It means that there is a real danger that one day the humanity will use up the exhaustible natural resources which it needs to survive.

Many governments have been trying to present a solution to the problem of overpopulation. China, where every family is allowed to have only one child, is an example of successful implementation of birth control policy. In India, however, low-educated people ignore the law for the sake of traditions. In Africa the impoverished families are usually large because children can work and support the family. Although AIDS, TB and cancer are responsible for millions of deaths every year the birth rates still outweigh the rates of mortality. Many religions prohibit using protection which means women bear as many children as they can.

In my opinion, if the growth of population doesn’t stop the consequences would be terrible. Cutting down more woods, plowing up virgin lands and building new power stations would cause the deterioration of ecological situation. The poorest countries would be the first to experience the lack of food and fresh water while the developed nations who control most resources will suffer from an increasing migration flow. When faced with existential threats, people become violent and a world war is a possibility. In conclusion, the solution of demographic problem is a priority because the future of all humankind depends on it.

Re: Get your IELTS essay checked and graded for free

Hello! Please, check my essay. Thanks a lot)
Using a computer every day, can have more negative that positive effects on your children. Do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant example from your own knowledge or experience.

Computer technology has changed the lives of children of all ages. While this technology has its benefits, primarily in education and access to information, it can also be detrimental to children's health. I tend to agree that young generation can be negatively affected by the time at the computer.
First of all, last research suggested, that using the computer is a very sedentary activity, which causes health problems as headache, hand injuries, back pains. Furthermore, regular computer using can affect a child's attention span and focus. The worst problem of young regular users is computer addiction, which is very difficult to stop.
Secondly, computer using is also a highly solitary activity. I strongly believe, that the children, who spend more time than their peers near the display, may fail to develop appropriate social skills. Pediatricians are confirmed that underdeveloped social skills can result in loneliness and depression, which are detrimental to health and relationships.
To sum up, it is essential that parents and school teachers should understand the implications of computer usage. More research is necessary to determine the recommendations that maximize the benefits and minimize the negative effects of home computers on children;s lives.

Question Re: Get your IELTS essay checked and graded for free

In recent years, obesity becomes a major problem in most of the countries, especially in youngsters. Nowadays, it is sparked much debate that governments should levy a tariff on junk foods to curb the health problems. I believe that, government authorities must charge heavy tax on unhealthy food as the collected money will use for the diseases caused by it and it will also refrain people to consume more fast food.

Firstly, large amount expected to get from such levy as most of the people are addicted of eating junk foods. This amount can use for the cure of various common diseases arise through consuming more unhealthy eating. Moreover, this money could also be used for the awareness of health issues related to this dangerous addict. For example, in United Kingdom money collected from tax on cigarette uses to control lung cancer and heart disease.

Secondly, due to increasing rates everyone cannot afford fast food. Consequently, related health issues will also decreases due to decrease in consumption rate. For example, consumption of
cigarettes and alcohols are controlled through high tax rate in most of the countries. Furthermore, this will also have beneficial impact on local farming, as people diverted to vegetables and
    other healthy foods.

To sum up, by imposing duty on junk food government not only generate enough revenue to control the corresponding diseases and awareness of these diseases but also it will result consumption of the same. I am in consummate accord, as I believe that, levy a tariff will have sheer impact on consumption of unhealthy food.
