Many people ask this, so I've started a thread for it.

Please reply to this topic with your practice test scores. For example :

Real GRE: V710 Q780

PowerPrep: V650 Q700, V700 Q800

GRE Paper Tests: V740 Q800, V700 Q800

Kaplan: V600 Q650, V620 Q660

Princeton Review: V650 Q700

-other-

Thanks! I hope we get a lot of responses!

Edit: Please post ONLY your scores here. If you have other questions, please post them in the right place. ;)

We will have to delete all off-topic posts. Thanks for helping! :)

Real GRE: 510 - Verbal & 500 Quant

PowerPrep: 500 - Verbal & 540 - Quant, 550 - Verbal 450- Quant

GRE Big Book:: 400 - Verbal & 510 - Quant, 440 - Verbal & 450 - Quant. I took about 16 exams but I did not record all of my scores :o.

PaperTest GRE.org:: 510 - Verbal & 470 - Quant

Kaplan: N/A

Princeton: N/A

*For some reason, I felt that PowerPrep Exam #2 was more difficult than Exam #1. Thus, PowerPrep #2 closely resembled my scores.

Hope this helps you guys out!

Real GRE: V650 Q780

PowerPrep: V720 Q720, V710 Q800

GRE Paper Tests: Took a lot of tests-got a range of scores from a minimum of V580 Q690 to a maximum of V740 Q780.

I reccomend ETS official guide 10th edition.It has 7 tests and I had a hard time doing them justice.

Kaplan CD tests:CAT1: V590 Q760 , CAT2:V590 Q730

I found Kaplan's tests to be phrased much differently from GRE powerprep and of a slightly higher difficulty level.

Princeton review paper tests: These were quite similiar to the official 10th edition.There was nothing remarkable abt them,except for their POE.

Real GRE: V670 Q800

PowerPrep: First time : t1: V580 Q760, t2: V620 Q800

1 week before exam : t1: V720 Q800, t2: V730 Q800

GRE Paper Tests: I did the entire BB, It started with V500-650,Q750-800

And the last few times are: V680 Q780, V740 Q800, V640 Q800, V720 Q800

Kaplan (online): V690 Q650

Princeton Review (online): V500 Q650

Barron's: V640 Q??? (didn't do Q)

I think the online free tests by test prep. companies are very bad measures. Some say that they make your score lower to freak you out. Perhaps.

Also, many test prep companies tell you that ETS test makers have limited vocab. I accede that there are some favorite words by ETS test makers. However, the testprep companies are the ones with real vocab limits.

Diagnostic test: V.270 Q 200 (first time I saw the test in my life, mid November 2003).

GRE CAT: 1st Attempt (Dec.2003): V370. Q470 AWA 5

Other tests I took in order to prepare for the second try:

- Power prep CAT 1 AND 2: v500 and q430 and v520 q450 (1 week before the test)

- Kaplan CAT: v520 and q300 (4 days before the test)

Second attempt (Nov 30th 2004) : V.580 Q.560 AWA: still unknown, I guess I did well. :=)

Real GRE: V-500, Q-670

PowerPrep: 1st test V-320, Q-580

2nd test V-430, Q-690

Total time for preparation: roughly 2 hours a night in nearly 2 weeks (I have to work day time). I studied Barron's High-frequency Word List only (334 words, and I am so not a native). Then, I read "cracking math" in Princeton and practiced Q-questions in the 2 PowerPrep's tests. Period.

--> satisfied with the results [w00t]

I know this forum just now! :(
