    Haas PhD stipend

Thinking about applying to Haas next year and was wondering if anyone knows their stipend. I have heard pretty negative things about Berkeley's econ financial aid and was wondering if the business school was in the same situation.

phdstipends.com lists a couple haas stipends. first year admit in 17-18 was offered 38K and second year student in 18-19 reported a stipend of 30K. also commented that incoming students received higher stipends. (assuming students starting in 2018?).

ETA - take these numbers with a grain of salt. They are anonymous and self reported so there may be inconsistencies or they may be including fellowships/additional funding sources that not everyone is eligible for.

There are obviously high costs to places like the Bay Area / New York / Boston: but they are also places with incredible schools. If Berkeley was an option I can't imagine turning it down over stipend unless it was simply a situation where you wouldn't be able to afford necessities

It's a state school, the information is public record.

    Re: Haas PhD stipend

This year admit here. 35k first two years, 38k afterwards. However, there is probably some variation across areas (Finance, BPP, etc.)
