Tax4Life
Hi everyone, I'm at the beginning of my possible PhD journey and trying to decide if it's worth moving forward. I have an "ok" GPA (3.6) but biggest concern is that my master's came from Liberty University. At the time, I wasn't considering any further education. I was just trying to get my credits to sit for the CPA exam. Now, I'm considering applying to some PhD programs but I'm not sure I have a shot. Other than my education, I have a good professional background - several years Big4 experience and I have my CPA license. I still need to sit for the GMAT but I'm pretty confident I could get a good score. Is anyone in a similar situation and still been accepted to a program? phd2017
I wouldn’t worry too much about it unless you are shooting for only going to a top 10 program or something. If you have an accounting bachelors from a decent place, a MAcc AND a CPA, you can most certainly get in somewhere respectable if you ace the GMAT. Just apply broadly across the ranks. gentvenus
Just curious why a "Tax4Life" practioner would want to do a PhD actually :glee:
