    Yale vs Princeton vs NYU

    Sponsored Ad:
Yale undergrad here. The only beef I have with Princeton is its messy Visit Day which didn't leave good impression on me because I didn't have time for one-on-one faculty meetings and its up-and-down placements. Meanwhile NYU and Yale fare better in terms of placement. Not sure about my interests yet. Probably not Macro theory or Metrics (but might be applied metrics or macro labor/development etc.) Talked to some real nice Yale profs during Visit Day.

Would it help career-wise to expand my network outside of Yale?

It is important to expand your academic career beyond your ugrad, but you can also expand your network by just attending conferences anyways. If you felt the most comfortable at Yale, I'd say go to Yale. At this level you have excellent choices, so it's really a matter of taste and comfort, which you appear to have at Yale.

I agree with what gtfoundergrad said and think Yale would be a great option for you if that's where you feel the most comfortable at. However, one thing to point out is that don't feel discouraged to choose Princeton simply because of their visit day. If you want to, you can reach out to Princeton via email and see if you can get in touch with some professors whom you may want to work with in the future.

Also food for thought: one of my friend also attended Princeton's visit day, and was informed of Princeton's vast amount of resource. Basically for Princeton grads who want to go to conferences / purchase datasets / conduct experiments / etc., Princeton has enough money to approve almost all of such requests. Something to keep in mind when making your decision. Best of luck and congrats on all your admissions!
