Rose Banda2020
Hello All, I am interested in part-time phd economics programs in the USA. Though I am more interested in programs around DC, Virginia and Maryland am open country wide. I would appreciate if people shared the part time programs they know of given that I didn't get a good result on google search. tm_member
You'll find part time programs are centered around the DC area given the different population in that area. You should look into GWU, Georgetown, American, GMU, and so on. You'll also probably find part time options in Public Policy and Public Administration PhD programs at those same kinds of schools. plexus
The top line answer to this question is "you shouldn't do a phd in economics part time", and the vast majority institutions don't offer the option for a reason. It's very probably not a good idea for you. That said, there are a few departments that offer part-time phds. George Washington U advertises "Occasionally, the PhD program will admit highly qualified part-time students." , and both George Mason and The New School say they accommodate part-time students, but those programs also offer formations that are outside the mainstream and might not be seen as on the same level as other schools'.
