  1. @ All those who think they can still stand after the free fall.... Guys, I myself scored quite a low score when I gave my exam for the first time..and later I was able to score 710 , which I presume is pretty decent....So this is straight from the horse's mouth... Well coming to the point ...Just believe me GMAT is just a test and it test nothing except your stamina during those 3.5 hours..so my advice goes like this : a) So don't get yourself bogged down with too much of preparatory stuff. For SC / CR / RC : I would strictly suggest you to do manhattan book...crisp concepts and use the concepts on the questions given in GMAT verbal Review. DOn't worry about the time at this stage...you need to build concepts... Once I was done with this stuff..I used Kaplan Workbook or Kaplan Comprehensive book...this book is too good and now I started concenterating on speed but still more focussed on concepts. My idea was that I shouldn't flounder on the concepts... I ensured that I revise the concepts mentioned in GMAT manhattan from time to time... Then I started with OG...do take some questions may be 20 questions and attempt them within certain time..so it is like focussing on both speed and time... Once that was over I gave 2 or 3 princeton tests....kaplan tests are strict No No...No real value add... And I gave 4 Gmat manhattan test... I knew my weekness was inequalities and CR..and these test helped me with gaining lot of confidence.... SO just don't get yourself too much to handle...Relax and go for the kill.... you can also through my post Scored 710.that may give you some more insights as what to do and what not to ...

Just writing one test after another definitely won't help...you definitely need to plan and act accordingly. Feel free for any help required.
  11. Hi All Truely speaking, I am not a regular visitor at this site but the useful tips I got while going through the success stories of many others definitely helped me in the actual exam. Thanks to everyone for contributing to this website .So I just thought to share my test experience and some tips which helped me . As far as AWA is concerned, just used the basic template and it was a smooth sail. On the practice front , I gave AWA for two practice tests few days before the exam to feel the heat of a full 3.5 hour test and I really find this useful. For Quant: I would say few questions on DS (inequality) were really tricky and time consuming. Didnt get anything on probability or PnC. Quant most revolved around inequalities in DS. Got some geometry questions which were easy. Got few tough questions on ratios and proportions. I didn't do much. Completed the OG for PS and DS. In the initial practice tests, I got around 48 ( on a bad day) and 49 ( on a good day). Analysed my weakness and found inequalities as a not so strong area. To practice inequalities , I would recommend to go through the manhattan quant tests. Definitely these tests are a lot tougher than the actual exam but provides good material for practice. For verbal : Used Manhattan SC , Manhattan CR books. Really found them useful in terms of concepts. I would recommend to understand the concepts in this book, apply them on some questions from a good book ( I used Kaplan Comprehensive practice book) and then jump to OG 11 . For RC , didn't practice much , just used OG and kaplan books for practice. On the actual exam , I found SC tougher than the ones I practiced. Found them similar to the tougher questions in GMATPREP. CR , was a smooth sail and I would say the credit goes to the manhattan and princeton practice tests, which I used to brush up the CR. RC, won't say too tough but the last two RC were really lengthy and cam when I was under heavy time constraints. Some tips: No doubt, Gmat is exhaustive and can easily drain out the energy. For the night before exam : 1) if your exam is scheduled early in the morning...do all the basic prepartion such as the test centre directions,id , passport ( international candidates)the stuff one may need at the exam centre....in the evening itself ,so that you don't have any unneccessary pressure in the morning.. 2) Relax and Keep your nerves cool : I won't advice any last minute preparations , besides I also wont advice to go for some party or movie ..as though you need to relax but at the same you don't want to moose your concenteration. I went to dinner with my wife and had some quality time. Besides, I would suggest to stopthinking anything about my performance on the tests. 3) Have a sound sleep : Sleeping properly ,the night before the exam is CRITICAL. You need to be fresh and you want your mind in a relaxed frame. So sleep tight and forget everything. I would advice not to take any medicine such as Nyquil or Tylenol because though it can help you sleep tight but you may feel drowsy in the morning... On the D-Day ------------- 1) I would suggest to eat appropriately before the exam so that neither you are hungry and also you are not full that start feeling sleepy. Besides eating something light, I would recommend to have a cup of strong coffee as it raises the alertness level. 2) Reach the test centre timely to avoid any unneccesary pressure and check the location of restroom etc....You never know when you may need to go to the restroom.. 3) Another therapy , which I find useful is "Wash the face" --- washing face with cold water helped me to keep fresh . I would strongly suggest to use this therapy during the breaks. 4) To maintain energy levels during the exam, I would suggest to eat something that can increase the glucose level in your body, so that you have the appropriate energy while working on a particular test scetion. I ate a chocolate and grapes during each of the two breaks and really found them helpful. Also drink just sufficient amount of water during the breaks. 5) While attempting questions, I would suggest to try to do the initial few questions right for sure... Wishing everyone luck !
  12. A recently published article on human physiology claims that enzyme K contributes to improved performance in strenuous activities such as weightlifting and sprinting. The article cites evidence of above average levels of enzyme K in Olympic weightlifters and sprinters. Which of the following, if true, would most strengthen the article's conclusion? A. Enzyme K levels are most improtant factors affecting the performance of strenuous activities. B. Enzyme K has no other function in the human body. C. Enzyme K is required for the performance of strenuous activities. D. Enzyme K help weightlifters more than it help sprinters. E.
