What I can understand from the email is that you have got admission to the university without any aid. Thus, you have to decide between "Aid" and "Department". Do you really want to major in CSC or aid is more important for you?

After University of Maryland (January), another reject yesterday from University of Pittsburgh for MS in EE. Tomorrow, I am attending an orientation session at UVA, lets see what that brings. I am really counting on UVA. Anyone else in the forum planning to be there at UVA tomorrow?

Today I got an email saying that I have been invited you to attend a one-day orientation session at UVA on Friday, March 3, 2006. This will especially allow faculty to consider me for financial support based on research opportunities in their respective labs. I have a few questions, does anyone have an idea what kind orientation would it be? Will there be a one-to-one interview or a general informal talk? What kind of preparation does it need from my end? My senario is little different from rest of you because though I'm an international applicant, I live in Charlottesville (UVA campus) and have already met with most of the professors in my area of interest here. Any help is appreciative. Thanks.
