Just Finished my TOEFL. 213 - 267 is what I got. L : 25, S & W : 12 to 28, R : 27. Divyesh

Ans 1) Col A 100210*90021 = (100021 + 189)*90021 = 100021 * 90021 + (189*90021) Col B 100021*90210 = 100021 * (90021 + 189) = 100021*90021 + (189*100021) 189*90021 Col 1 Ans 2) x amt is invested at 4% => 10000-x amt invested at 6% Total interest = 520 = 0.04*x + 0.06 (10000-x) => 520 = 0.04x + 600 - 0.06x => 0.02x = 80 => x = 4000 => amt invested at 4% = 4000 and amt invested at 6% = 10000-x = 6000 so, Col A Plz go through the posts once before posting. U'll find solution of these as well as of many other powerprep questions as they were answered earlier. This will save ur time.

It'll work. It's a good practical method but according to me u'll get answer within 30-45 seconds with any of these methods. It doesn't mean that I am against these practical methods but it is always preferable to stick to basics until u know these practical methods throughly. If u know them well, it'll be very helpful but if u don't then there is a big problem. So, it is better to use basic methods rather than using practical methods until u r familiar with it. I still prefer to go with basic methods bcoz in exams like GRE where a single answer counts a lot, a small mistake can reduce ur score. Hope This Helps Divyesh

Vinay, I think it is true for square not for rectangle. In ractangle, diagonals bisects each other not the angle of vertex. It is clear from the given problem itself. In this, angle ABD and angle DBC are not equal. It is possible when diagonals bisects each other perpendicularly only. Correct me if I'm wrong Let me know ur GRE score. Divyesh

Agree with Vinay. It's a combination problem. Be careful abt it. Permutation formulas can be used if arrangement is to be done in a certain order.

Here AC and BD are diagonals of rectangle. In ractangle, diagonals are equal and bisects each other. For Triangle AOB, angle AOB = 89 and OA = OB => angle BAC = angle ABD = 91/2 > 45 For Triangle BOC, angle BOC = 91 and OB = OC => angle BCA = angle CBD = 89/2 So angle BAC > angle BCA Another Method : angle BOC > angle AOB => opposite sides BC > AB. Another simple method : Since the tank is always half full, depth of water in tank will always be half of the height of tank. In various conditions, height of tank will be 1,2 or 4. Therefore possible depths of water will be 0.5, 1 or 2 and greatest possible difference of depths = 2.0 - 0.5 = 1.5 meters Hope this Helps Divyesh

For this cube total possible volume of water = 1*2*4 = 8 cubic meters and 4 cubic meters water is their. Therefore tank is always half full. Now, this tank is placed on its various sides and therefore either 1,2 or 4 are possible depth or u can say height of tank. In case of height = 1, two base sides will be 4 and 2. Total water in tank is 4 cubic meters so height of water = 4/(2*4) = 0.5 meters. Try same way for height of tank = 4. In this case two base sides will be 1 and 2. Total water in tank is still 4 cubic meters so height of water = 4 / (1*2) = 2 meters. Greatest possible difference in water height or water depth = 2.0 - 0.5 = 1.5 Hope This Helps Divyesh
