  1. OA is E! Thanks for both explanations..both were very helpful and helped me to learn the concept..I had up through business calculus in college..I am just not sure why I never ran into these types of questions!
  2. What is the largest value of N such that 98^98 is divisible by 7^N A. 98 B. 105 C. 148 D. 164 E. 196 I am clueless on number properties but got this one right..by accident..doing it the long way..I figured out what the last digit of 98^98 by figuring out the repeating pattern..did the same thing with the number seven..and did it that way.. Anyone have a quick way to solve this? The answer made sense to a point..I just got lost in the factoring portion of it.. I understand how to get to the part but I don't know how they got to :( I don't see how they made the transition..any assistance would be appreciated..
  3. Can anyone tell me if this is solveable? I cannot figure out how to do this equation.. Here is the problem It takes Jack two more hours than Tom to type twenty pages Working together, Jack and Tom can type 25 pages in 3 hours.. How long would it take Jack to type 40 pages? A. 5 B. 6 C. 8 D. 9 E 12 I can solve it till I get to 1/J+1/J-2=5/12 What is the LCD for the left hand side of the equation?

  5. Holy shit it clicked! I wish I could send you a present...and I would hug you but I think we are both guys lol..thanks alot!
  6. Right here is where I get messed up. I do not understand these type of exponents and how to simplify them.. I know logically 5^13 is twice the size of 5^12.. However, I am not sure how you knew to do this part..This is where I get messed up at... How do you know to multiply 5^12*(5-1) Where could I find a page with such theory? What type of math is this so I can look it up on my own? I had up through Business Calculus and never had to do such an operation with exponents..I have the Manhattan GMAT Number properties and it doesn't help. I was a liberal arts major in college..I think I am doomed unless I get tutoring:(
  7. *I am very bad at these types of problems involving exponents..if I only understood how to manipulate them I would be into 47+ Q..any assistance would be appreciated. A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H are all integers, listed in order of increasing size. When these numbers are arranged on a number line, the distance between any two consecutive numbers is constant. If G and H are equal to 5^12 and 5^13, respectively, what is the value of A? A. -24(512) B.-23(512) C.-24(56) D.23(512) E.24(512)
  8. Can you give me an example of this? Because every number I use gives me the same probability:(
  9. I am confused..I thought ratio would be enough to determine probability.. For example..if I had 80 red and 20 green, my chance of picking a red chip is 80%... If I have the same ratio..4 red and 1 green, still an 80% chance of choosing red... Where am I going wrong?

  11. If the circus were to sell all of its 220 tickets at the same price it charged last month, it would experience a 10% increase in revenue than was collected last month. However, the circus decides to increase the ticket price by 5% and therefore only sells 200 tickets. What percent less was last month's revenue than the previous month's? A.2 B,. 5 C.100/21 D.110/20 E. 9/4 I did it the long way..picking numbers..and got B..I used 10 dollars a ticket for the original price..and 10.50 for the new, increased price..the quation I got was 2000/2100...where did I go wrong?
  12. Title of the thread says it all..
  13. Ok doing it long ways, Simpifying the right side I get Sqrt (75*16)+Sqrt (25*48) Combining numbers on that side, that equals Sqrt2400 I was told the answer to the question is 40. However, if if Square 40 and multiply it by the number inside of the root sign, I get sqrt4800? I am confused
