My GMAT score is 710 and I believe that speaking score is not true representation of my speaking abilities. It's very frustrating to go for another shot just because of speaking section:(. Dude, Don't know much abt d Kaplan's Cd-rom but u can try ne of these: 1) Longman Book on Toefl IBT. 2) ETS Official guide for toefl ibt 2) Try to see more english movies/soap opera 3) Record your speech to review it later on (You can also use voicemail functionality for this). HTH Arun

Hi All, I took Toefl IBT on 29th July and finally got score after 3 weeks. I was expecting a higher score (105+), and this score (95) is certainy not as per my expectations:(. I may have to retake it as most of B-schools expect TOEFL score of atleast 100. didn't prepare much for this exam, and refered my GMAT study for this exam also. got some shock during exam as wasn't familiar with sub-sections in each sections. Also, there were lots of noises, which distracted me during entire exam time. Please let me know if anyone needs more information about TOEFL ibt, though don't think that I am the best guy to give advice (based on my score..:( ).. Also, I would appreicate if any one can comment on my score. Thanks Arun

Hi All, I am in the process of finalizing schools to apply in first round for Fall 2007 MBA program. I am planning to work in bio-tech/pharma company after MBA, and may start my own biotech company after 8-10 years (Long term plan). I would appreciate if someone can assist me in selecting schools. As of now, I have finalized following 5 schools 1) Chicago 2) Michigan 3) Duke 4) Darden (Re-applicant) 5) ISB My Profile: Indian IT male, Working in USA since last 2 years, 710 GMAT, 5.5 years of work-ex, also involve in volunteer activities in the biggest Hospital in my area. Thanks GMABong for your kind suggestion. I understand this point, but I couldn't find the reason that why should I wait for 1-2 years to apply to MBA schools. MY GMAT score (710) and 5.5 years of work-ex should be competitive enough for any top 10-15 colleges. I think that this is the only year, when I can put forth my strongest profile in front of admission committee. Thanks again. Arun

Thanks GMATBong. I know about these differences (No. of Years), but I think that I should wait for first admission round of US B school. If you remember, then I asked you, if I should apply to Darden in the last round (fourth round) for MBA 2006 program, despite of being an international applicant. I applied to Darden, but have been rejected:(. I asked for feedback and got following comments: _________________________________________________________ We couldn't find any weakness in the profile, but applying in the last round was the most difficult to distinguish. The clarity of essays and communication skills were not as strong as the admitted applicants. If you want to reapply, then you should apply in the earlier deadlines. _______________________________________________________ I would like to know, if this is the general feedback or shows positive/negative points regarding my profile. Hi All, I would appreciate, if anyone can help me in identifying the differences between INSEAD/LSB and top 10-15 US B schools. I have 5 years of work ex and my GMAT score is 710. The deadline for Jan 2007 MBA program of INSEAD is July 04. Is it wise to apply to INSEAD or I should wait for first admission round of US B schools for FALL 2007 MBA program. though, There won't be much difference between the competition in this round and the competition in next round, but applying in this round will certainly have an added advantage. You need to withdraw all applications from other universities, if you get selected in columnbia. I am also planning to Apply to columbia, so let's see. Do you have list of all schools, which have early admission round? Cheers Arun

Hi JJ, I think that you have a great profile and you should concentrate more on presenting this to Adcom. Unless you are sure that GMAT score will be raised by 30-40 points, there is no need to retake it. I also have 710 (Gmat Score), but my profile is not as much attractive as yours'.:) Best of Luck. If primary medium of education in your undergrad college was english, then no need to take TOEFL. You can check out respectgive colleges for more information. Arun

congrats for a gr88 score... my sis was also in SRCC...good college and u have a gr88 profile.... (female + Non IT background frm India).. i wud suggest u 2 to go for 2 yr MBA.. ISB could be n option but shdn't be among five.. Best of luck.. Arun
