they are the same...prometric and universities... there are universities that has old computers but there are also prometric centers who has old computers... maybe just asked about a particular prometric center or a university so people who had experience going there can say something about it.

I will be taking the toefl-ibt exam to get the requirement to get in the university. I will be giving the toefl-ibt exam to get the requirement for visa screening. Yes, you are right about the doctor... so I went to the asked a university teacher again after you wrote this and this is her reply... Her example a person who passed his licensure exam for his profession like pharmacist then he needs the toefl to get a visa to work and not to get a professional designation. It means that he is doing the exam for the purpose working not to get a professional designation because he is already a pharmacist the only problem is he is not able to get a visascreen. Unlike a student who is fresh from high school to go to school or a college graduate who has not yet taken their licensure exam. They are having their toefl-ibt to get higher education and they are not yet professional. So yes if the doctor is a patient then “He is taking the physical exam”. His purpose is not to work as a doctor but to have his annual check up. But even though the doctor is a patient if he needs the physical exam to work as doctor. He can say "I am giving my physical exam today" so now his purpose it to be eligible to work in his profession. That's why when someone is writing in the Microsoft word and is doing a spelling and grammar check both will be correct and Microsoft word will not correct it. So it is acceptable to use give/take an exam but they should be sure that can tell what their purpose is. Just what I said before we don’t know what the purpose of the members here for their toefl-ibt. So it’s hard to correct them. English is a very crazy language so maybe someone can ask another English teacher about this. Like flammable and inflammable… different words but they mean the same… so it’s hard to know. Anyway I will try again to ask another teacher or research in grammar books and maybe we will all be enlighten…. And thanks tseprep for your input.

I think it is two years... because Ets can report your score as long as it is not more than 2 years old...

monaellakany...thats a good suggestion... if you can do that i think a lot of members will appreciate it... or you can start maybe someone will continue...

hi koronova... yes it's normal to see your score in the net prior to receiving your score by mail... but if it is since december then maybe you need to contact ETS...

I think the questions are all the same in that day... but again ets seems to be getting smarter... I noticed that when examiners from India are taking the exam on one day there is no schedule in North America... then when they have a test date in India they have different time but the time difference is 2 hours so it seems that all are doing their exam on the same time...

srilak... yup your right it is a little bit too soon but yes the results are in for the 6th of January... maybe they are getting faster evaluating someones essay and speaking... maybe they have more raters now or maybe they just pick a number and give that to someone...lol...thats all maybe but anyway whatever ets doing hopefully they are doing a it for the all the goodness of the test takers.. No they will just report what you asked them to report. Each report will cost $17. per copy. for example I've got the score I like (January 6) they will just report/send that to the school/organization that I want. thats the only score they will be sending. They won't send my previous scores if I don't asked them to. They will report any score you want to be reported (current, previous-as long as it's less than 2 years) as long as you pay.

26-speaking a goal which is like climbing mount everest... I just wish that pharmacy organization, PT/OT organization , NUrsing... can change their requirement .... How I wish they are like some schools in the US and Canada which only require the total score... Maybe someday they will change it to the total score instead of having a score in speaking in it's own. Maybe in the future they will just require 100 total toefl score and thats it... because I think if you have 100 total you can communicate well with people living in English speaking countries. Anyway I am just dreaming... Good luck and like what frenzgood stated all we can do right now is to try and try and try and try .... and hopefully we will succeed soon... to those taking toefl-ibt on January 26 goodluck... hey its 26 of January maybe that is a good sign for the speaking section...
