  1. Enroling in a review class will only entail a few days. This wont give you the diction. What about working in a call center for a month then trying the exam again. Working in a call center entails talking with people who really speaks English!
  2. Once you go to the PRC, the one to your right is where those applying for exams line up & the one to your left side is where you renew your license. It is in one of those windows in your left that you ask the girl who is responsible for the FPGEE. She will have your paper signed.
  3. I am both a pharmacist and a nurse! You are going over the NABP site, are you are a pharmacist too?
  4. You can take the NCLEX without taking the local boards if you have an American visa. You can take it directly there! or you can take it in Hongkong!
  5. There are probably reasons! After passing the FPGEE, some people are lost! They are at a lost on how to apply for internship. Some are busy with their English exams. I had passed my FPGEE last December 2005. I am still applying for the TOEFL-IBT here in the Phil. There are no more schedule for the TOEFL here, only TSE.
  6. Had you tried applying in Rite-Aid. My cousin from the Philippines was sponsored by RIte-Aid after she passed her FPGEE. What drug companies had you been applying? How did you apply for your pharmacy technician job? Do we have to go schooling again or just our certificate from our Pharmacy course would be enough. Thanks
  7. You can take your FPGEE even if you are an American citizen but educated outside the country that is if you will have your degree in UST. If you take the FPGEE, it means Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination, you are only at level with their graduates. It is not a licensure examination. After the FPGEE & English exam, you get the FPGEC, that is the Foreign Pharmacy Equivalency Certificate. After that, you can begin your internship training & after the training it is then that you are qualified to take the Licensure examination & the jurisprudence. The law is different with different states.
  8. Your sister has to consult an immigration lawyer in the Philippines, particularly from the BID! from the Immigration & Deportation. If your parents were both Filipino citizens at the time of your sisters birth then she can be a Filipino by Philippine constitution depending on the year she was born. She should also consult the Legal Division of PRC. A letter should be submitted to facilitate it with proper documentations. After that, she should coordinate with the DFA, Department of Foreign Affairs if she was born in the USA. After that, she should coordinate with the county she was born with & the Philippine Embassy in the US. For example, in my case, I was born in California, I coordinated with the Philippine Embassy in San Francisco. It is a very long process & you have to have a lot of patience to do it.
  9. In response to rainy cloud. 1. Dont memorize the chemical structures, just be familar with it 2. Simple calculations only are asked in the exam. 3. In Microbiology, what was asked was the organism causing Amoebiasis. 4. In my exam, If there are any questions on OTC, it was just basic.
  10. I am from the Philippines! I graduated 20 years ago. I didnt take the Phil Local Board exam before due to citizenship problems. In 2000, there was a revision so I was able to take the Local Phil Board exam this July & my FPGEE this December. I passed both exams on my first take. I reviewed in 2 other review centers before and both are good. However, I also reviewed at Manor Review Center. I thought the review at Manor was expensive. However, if one would actually analyze. This is the cheapest & the best. I paid P15,000 and was able to review for both the local & FPGEE. Most of the students can sit in again for free. It doesnt matter how many times you sit in. The professors are very much credible. Dr. Imasa is a pharmacist-physician.He is the Dean of the College of Pharmacy , Adamson University while Ryan,on the other hand, is a pharmacist & is enrolled in his Masterals. All other lectures are board topnochers like Dr. Imasa & Ryan. They also give updates. So if you are enrolling in a review center in the Philippines, you dont have to have a second thought. Do it at Manor!
  11. Can somebody enlighten me on the internship program here in California. I am from the PHil , passed the FPGEE taken last December. Am about to schedule my TOEFL-IBT. Can somebody make a feedback on how was the exam & what did you review? In the Phil, the internship program= 960 hours, 160 hours for community, 160 for hospital, 160 for laboratory, 480 for major. How is it here in California! I understand we apply after we get the FPGEC certificate ( after passing FPGEE & TOEFL/TSE or IBT) How much per hour is an intern paid in Walgreens? Sav on? Longs? hospital? I have many questions in mind! Please enlighten me!Thanks
