i'm heading for ucla for a masters in EE this fall.........1 thing.......never go by the sayin of a college tht CS AGRE is required.......gtech recommends it but this year has given admits to people without AGRE.......so u never know.....better if u give but even if u havent by some chance, do aply to those schools to give it a try........

ya.....usc's phd requires recos and sops but not for MS.....the usc representatives gave this info at a seminar in mumbai,india........

ya...usc does not require recos and sop for a masters degree....they admit people with a GRE as low as 100 or people with an aggregate of as low as 53%.....equivalent GPA of 2.0.....

cause USC gives admits to everyone.....even those with the worst of profiles.....

very true....from what i have learnt about the US asmission process is that there is always a high degree of randomness.....u can never expect an admit from anywhere for sure.......atleast in the top one's except USC....all 1 can do is to make the best possible application packet.....

see.......first of all....are u applyin for fall 2007 or sometime later.....i think your overall application packet matters a lot.......good recos and a good sop.....from insider's information, ucla looks at a 780+ quant and 550+ verbal.......u shud have an equivalent undergrad gpa of 3.7+....... for any field that u apply in US universities, apply for a Phd.......even if u wanna do a MS........that increases ur chance of funding........i made this grave mistake wherein i got top notch admits but no aid.....also, there is no binding in colls tht a Phd admit has to complete it.........u can leave after your MS.......:tup: only colls where the course is a MS/Phd, you have a binding with them.......colls like cornell, ucsd etc.......:mad: hope this helps........ I am goin in for a MS in wireless Networking.....got thru the EE Dept.....no aid though..... MY PROFILE: GRE 1390 ( V- 590 Q-800 AWA-4.5 ) TOEFL: 280 Undergrad Aggregate: 73% Some college level papers. Good recos and extra-curriculars....

surprising man........no more students for ucla this fall.......:hmm:

ya dude.....but considering all factors, have come down to ucla.....still waiting for gtech but highly unliikely.....the course at ucla is gud, gud research in my field and good job opportunities.....and to top that, the life in LA.... wat bout you.......where you heading????

Hey guys.....i'm a final year engineering student from and i've been admitted to ucla for a masters degree in ee for this coming fall term.......all those planning to join ucla this fall do drop in your contacts.......wud be great to knoe people before heading to ucla......... also could people give the ideal time when a masters stusent should arrive at ucla.....students currently in EE, could you'll tell me how good is the research goin on in wireless networking.....i plan to specialise in that..... looking forward to your replies and meeting prospective UCLA students.......

i too got thru umich for phd-ee but no aid.....so not joinin and goin to ucla as of now unless some miracle happens and some prof gets interested in me.....

i guess ucla is a better choice.....it's got amazzing research goin on in your field of interest.......just take it man.....
