  1. Hi! I Strongly suggest you NOT to put your foot in two boats at a time. Ask yourself what you really want to be, be focussed and then work towards the goal. Look at your strengths and things that make you unique....and then choose a path for yourself. Believe me, it makes life much easier!!! All the Best :)
  2. First of all Erin, i am glad that your first experience with Indians was a nice one. I am again very happy to know that you are impressed with certain Indian qualities. Infact i should say that you are a keen obeserver. All the things you mentioned infact mean a lot to us. Erin, i don't think that by now you need to worry as to how your comments will be taken. We all at Testmagic know the amount of efforts you put in to empower us. Regards Arti Arti Gupta
  3. Hello Everybody I would like to add something to the discussion. 1. The mistake of using "abt" instead of "about" and "u" instead of "you" is undoubtedly because of chatting. Infact i face this problem even when i draft an official letter. But then i always do a spelling revision and am improving upon it. This mistake is nowhere related to being an Indian. I think that anybody who is hooked to the net will commit same mistakes. Maybe we Indians are more technology savvy :). 2. Regarding the mistake of "not hitting the space bar" and "using he" etc....I feel that we Indians are in a confused state at times. As everybody know that our country was ruled by Britishers for over 200 years, they have left big imprints on our language and culture. And now with the changing times, US English is also popular. And TOEFL is a test of US English. So, coping between British English, US English, Indian English and our mother tongue Hindi is little hard for any student. This is how i feel. I might be wrong in other people's views. If any of my friends feel the same, please post back. Regards Arti Gupta
  4. Hi Erin Ya....i am not active on Testmagic these days. Actually i just joined my new job. Its a start up, so the job is pretty taxing and when i come back at 9 in the night, i really don't have the stamina to stare at the monitor most of the times. Apart from that i need to spend time with family as well. so..i hv been away from posting. but i do read most of them :-) hey! good that you have talked clearly about the DSL connection. I am sure it'll help a lot of people. Infact my brother in California also gets this problem frequently. His provider is SBC Global i guess. Anyways, take care Regards Arti Gupta
  5. Hey Erin! Don't worry....i am sure all of us understand that if the Magician is not responding, there has to be some critical reason. And....don't overwork yourself. Take Good Care :) Arti Gupta

  8. Hi Erin Thanks for the reply. I'll mail them today and let you know. In the mean time i was wondering that u must be knowing a few adcoms. Can u check with them, the relevance of this info and the effects if it does not match the original score reported in my transcripts? Regards Arti Gupta
  9. Hey! one more thing Erin...... Can i request them, not to mention anything in the field of GPA and other undergrad details? REgards Arti Gupta

  11. Hi Erin I have a rather unusual kind of problem. Today i got my official GMAT score card and it says that my "SELF REPORTED UNDERGRADUATE GPA" is 3.9 I do not remeber when did i report my GPA. Maybe they have taken it from the survery questions we get at the end of the GMAT. But i do not recall that i mentioned it as 3.9. My GPA is 3.2 in real. Anyways, whats happened has happened. We can't really undo it. Now i have the following queries: 1. Will this wrong GPA hamper my application in any way? 2. Should i mention anywhere in my application like essays etc that the GPA mentined in my report is wrong?? Pls guide me. Regards Arti Gupta
  12. This is in fact a very good idea Erin. Actually i thought of posting my essay and asking your comment, but the same thought came to my mind, that a lot of people will read it. So, this idea is a perfect one. Regards Arti Gupta
