Syracuse University (with partial funding) 5. NJIT I have waiting decisions from SUNY-Stony Brook and George Mason !! Well which one is the best of the lot? If someone can throw some light on the placement scenario and the on campus job scene as i don't as yet have any funding it would be great. Thanks !

  5. Hi My congratulations to all those admitted ! I have an admit at NCSU MS Computer Networking ! Haven't still heard on aid ! I have a few ques: 1. Were you awarded the aid after you sent the CFR form ? 2. Did you individually contacted profs about the aid ? Thanks !

  7. Hey the answer must be A Mr. bscout Look at it this way.... There are an infinite number of 9's after the decimal place in the proof stating 9.99..... - 0.99.... = 9 Now for every infinite term you consider there is a term greater than that because you can always add 1 to any number you can think of. In theory you can always have a number greater than any number you can think of. So here deleting the infinite number of 9's with each other resulting in a perfect 9 is not correct mathematically because you can never say that the infinite number of 9's in both cases will be same. You can argue that (infinity = infinity) but we never know which infinity is greater and there will always be a number greater than that. Definition of infinity states : that which is free from any possible limitation. So subtracting and proving that 1 = 0.99........ is wrong. C may be the OA but i would say otherwise.
  8. i'm applying for MS in CS with specialization in network and information security also termed as information assurance. I'm in the process of completing documents. thanks for you wishes and best of luck to all !
  9. no there is no need to buy a hard copy unless you are unconfortable in working with the computer and staring at the screen for hours. You must be having the verbal tests only. The bigbook apart from this contains the maths and the analytical(now not in test) tests. I did only the verbal tests and the DI questionf from the maths tests.
  10. Fantastic score !! Best of luck for admits !
  11. Its here finally !! Just got my score report and got 5.5 in AWA !! Thanks to all for their support and help !
  12. Hi rocky80 well i cant actually rate the essay because i dont know how the ETS people do it but here are a few things : 1. If you can write more maybe a paragraph or two it'll be helpful. 45 minutes are ample time to squeeze in a few more words 2. If possible include an example which will bolster your point. State that you're giving an example if needed. 3. All ETS topics are politically corrext so 50% people will go for and others against it. So state both sides of the coin with a 75% stress on your point of view and 25% on the other. Read the 2nd last para in my essay. Your use of vocabulary is excellent. Please try to write essay in timed conditions and after choosing a fresh topic from the pool of ETS essays. Also donot write essays after reading someone else's essay. By reading others responses your thought flow gets affected. So if you write on a fresh topic and then compare it with other responses it'll do you loads of goods. Best of luck to you !
  13. well for the side A take 2^29 as common 2^29(2-1)/2 = 2^28 Hence C

to overcome fears of DI go through the DI questions in big book. They are really good and similar to the ones you can expect in the real test. Do rest of the maths from the big book only if you have time. Else leave it and concentrate only on the DI questions from big book.
  15. if its risk free then there is no need to regulate them. So we need a word that complements the end of the sentence 'so' fits fine.
  16. Well as for words from the big book they are already there. I used to write the ones i didnt knew or wasnt able to recall aside in a copy and then study them. It helps because in a wordlist the words are not random as they would appear in the test. So randomly learning words from the big book helped a lot. The probability question was a straight forward one and i didnt used any formula. Just plain multiplications. It was to calculate ways of doing things than exactly probability. Well to learn words as mentioned before i used the barrons book and made flash cards of the 50 wordlists, used big book for practicing verbal and learning words in a random order, used the vocaboly and word web dictionary softwares. Rest practice from big book coz the verbal section is simply great in it. The questions you'll encounter in the real test will be similar to those in big book so it helps a lot.
  17. Hey man ! Congrats !! Best of luck for admits !
  18. Hey 27 views and no comments !! Come on people. Please express some opinion.
  19. Hi TargetGRE6 Well Big book is good for practice. Make sure you know the words. I used to extract words from the book tets and then learnt them. PM me your e-mail.
