Hi guys! have a question here. Hoiw do i check my AW score? Is there a way to check it online? I took the exam last Oct 17, i didn't received any email or snail mail regarding my scores.
  2. Congrats! Excellent score! how did you get your AW score? I took my exam last oct 17, still didn't receive my score. is there a way to check it online?
  3. I scored 2.5-3 in the 3rd and fourth questions. I agree, taht the middle questions are the most difficult of all. Congratulations on your writing score. I could just hope i did better.
  4. According to my score report, i got a score of 3.5-4 for 4 questions and scores of 2.5-3 in the other 2 questions. that was the break down of a score of 26.
  5. I am planning to take up MS in materials science and engineering. 7. Many thanks to both of you. My verbal score is very low. I'm afraid that will pull my chances down. JonhDR, I was not given a print out of my scores.
  8. I took GRE last October 17 above are my scores. I am planning to take up MS in materials science and engineering. Gpa: 8/10 toefl ibt: 103/120 Gre: verbal: 410 quant: 770 aw: still waiting Do i stand a chance of getting an admit? financial aid? Please advice. Thank you very much.
  9. Excellent score Toetret! Kudos on your reading. I took my exam in Baguio City, Philippines. The center is located in a hotel suite. There were i think, 9 of us who took ibt that day, making the place look very crowded. The test sections came in the same order for each of us, so we were talking all at the same time during the speaking section; typing our hands out during the writing sections. very noisy and quite disturbing.
  10. Thanks everyone... I studied for two weeks, concentrating more on reading and listening. I took two online practices, a cbt (testden) ibt (esl pro). Reading section jumped start my exam, i got 3 passages, i started with a very long one, around 6-7 paragraphs (ran out of time with this one actually), then followed by two shorter ones. Questions were the usual, vocabulary, inferences and summary. The topics were pretty boring though, for me ha... Next stop listening, quite enjoyable, got 9 lectures and conversations. i listened carefully and attentively and jot down notes. The notes are not quite of any help though. However, i retain things better when writing them down. Questions are rather easy, answers almost explicitly stated from conversations and lectures. I had a ten-minute break after listening then came speaking. I was very nervous while doing this section. A lot of times, i stammered. I ran out time at times; i had too much time at times. I was really surprised on how well i scored. Then came writing, time pressure. My topic for the first task is quite boring, dinosaurs. But, i get to finish it on time. The second task however, i did not get to revise my essay. I think there were several spelling and grammatical errors. I think i did not get my point straight too, especially, that i was a bit fickle minded when writing about the topic. There, that night i went home worrying about reading and speaking... and today, i realized that it is writing that pulled my score down. Again thank you... God bless you all...
  11. R - 26 L - 29 S - 26 W - 22 I got more than expected in reading and speaking, which is good. But i don't know what happened in my writing score, how'd i get so low. should i have it rescored?
  12. I'm applying for an MS in materials engineering. Really devastated with the outcome of my verbal score. I don't think i did well with the analytical writing part too... not quite confident about it. Anyhow, Thanks for you're reply. Good luck to you too.
  13. Hay... I really don't know if i could get any fellowship or even admit with a score like that... guys, i need your advise... thank a lot.
  14. Topic Statement: Dissatisfaction leads to progress. Each and every one of us has our own personal standards, be it in studies or in work. These set standards define our level of satisfaction. One who has a very low standard is usually satisfied even with the poorest quality of work. In contrast, one who has high standards will never be satisfied with a good work. It should always be the best one that would satisfy him. What is progress when it comes to the level of satisfaction? It is an end product of dissatisfaction. A clear manifestation of this would be in the case of a teacher who has high standard and a student who has low personal standard. A student was told by his teacher to submit a certain report. Since the student has low standard, he didn't care much, procrastinated and submitted the paper right on the dot of the deadline. The teacher was dissatisfied with his work, made a few comments and asked for certain revisions. The revision made by the student delivered a better grade compared to the draft submitted. In the grade, lies the student's progress due to the teacher's dissatisfaction. Being a student for almost two decades, the example stated above had come my way several times already. The flow of events might not be as similar as the one stated above, but for sure, the endings are quite the same, and that is, progress. With that said, I do agree that dissatisfaction indeed leads to progress.
  15. Point taken. Thanks a lot. You're a big help.
