Hi, While I haven't received any notifications from ETs either by mail or phone, I noticed in my Toefl home page That my exam has been rescheduled for 5th Jan in a different test center.( is there any possibility od rescheduling this test without any fees or do I have to pay the fees for rescheduling any ideas) Ets didn't state anything about where I should take the test, test location is different, I did find myself from test center codes.... Why ETS is working irresponsibly?????? Rsshruthi

hi all, Atleast it's better to know that I am not the only one got the problem... I tried calling the help center which was useless and frustrating they put me on hold for an hour , I did hang up the phone at last. Now guys, what is going to happen are we going to get any test dates before the end of December, so that I can send it to my uni at least lately...(I have to send it before Jan 8, 2008) Thanks,rsshruthi

Hi , Does anybody experienced any problems on dec15th toefl Ibt.. Sincw the ibt sever is not working properly, the administrator was not able tot ake my photograph and I couldn't write the test and she said the problem was world wide is it so?? Is it better to have few friends or many friends? People cannot live without friends. We make friends while we interact with each other. For example, we make friends in workplace or in neighborhood. In my opinion having many friends is always better than having few friends. First of all, making many friends from different cultures broaden your knowledge meanwhile we would know better about their lifestyles and culture. For example, when people from different countries made friendship with each other they are going to share their customs. I am having a muslim friend, and from her I learnt a lot about Islam and their festivals. It is always fun to have many friends so that we can enjoy our life going for group tours, hiking or camping. Secondly, if we have many friends we don’t have to worry in case we land in emergency situations. Our friends will come and help us to come out of the problem. This has happened in my real life. When I traveled alone with my daughter, I had some difficulties before boarding the plane. Immediately, I called my friends and they helped me to solve my problems so that I could go to my place safely. Finally, it is always better to have many friends rather to have few friends as we learn many new things from our friends and we can get help when needed. Thanks

Use specific reasons and details to explain your answer. In my opinion, university students should be required to attend classes regularly rather than optionally. There may be a possibility that a student can do well even though he or she didn’t attend the classes regularly. There are many advantages in attending the classes regularly. First reason is, by attending classes regularly, he can obtain knowledge from a teacher who can gain valuable knowledge. This knowledge will help him keeping with the latest information and syllabus, so that it will be easier for him to gain good score in final exam. But, if a student attending classes according to his will or once in a while the subjects may not be clear to him and he may not attain good knowledge and most likely to score low marks. The second reason is when attending classes regularly one can know his standards by which he can improve himself towards excelling in his academic performance. He is pore focused on the subject. On the other hand a student attending the classes optionally can easily get distracted by the environment and spoiled his academic performance. Some people pay money for the things they want or need. Other people trade products or goods for what they need. Compare the advantages of these two ways of obtaining things. Which way do you prefer? Explain why. In this materialistic world, People want to buy many things. They really do not bother about whether they really want it or not. Some people pay money for the things they want while others buy things only what they are in need of. I would prefer to buy products what I need only. Though needs are different for each and everyperson, I feel one should not buy if he does not need it. For example, I want to state my personal experience.I used to buy things really I am in need of it. Once I bought a new cooking appliances impulsively though I knew it's of no use for me. Same happened and I could not use it for more than once. That time I realised I should not buy unnecessary. Buying things only for money to show them you are superior may not help in anyway. People just buy whatever they see in the market and dump it in the house. They don't even care about what they have bought. Obviuosly, unused products are going to be a waste . Moreover it is going to be a waste of time and one's effort. It makes the house a cluttered area. Let me explain with some other example. One of my friend , he had the habit of buying everything he saw and he did not use them properly. Because of his impulsiveness , he had left without any money. He suffered and suffered and finally he realised his problem of buying everything. Now as he realised that he needs to buy only he wanted, he is saving money for his future at the same time, his precious time is also saved. For example,if I have a conflict with my family member they should not come into the picture and state their opinion. I will not like that behaviour. Some music is very inspirational. Other music seems boring and meaningless. Which type of music do you listen to and why do you think some music forms are much more popular than others? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. In this world , each and everything is related to music starting from birth and death. There are many types of music according to the culture and religious nature like pop or rock music for westerners and folk songs for tribal people. S ome music is very inspirational others are boring . I prefer to listen inspirational, at the same time melodious songs. People's listening patterns are constantly changing. For example, in my home town melodious songs are popular in early 1970s to 1990s. Those songs were very famous because of the style and rhythm. Lyrics of the songs made people hear them again and again. The singer who is singing the song also carries the great value in gaining popularity. Some call those songs as everlasting songs. Slowly , the pattern changed and people started liking songs with fast beats and rap pop songs. but these songs are only for a small period of time and after sometime people tend to lose interest and stop hearing these songs. they feel that fast beating songs are meaning less. I love to hear inspirational and melodious songs. For example , I used hear these songs when I am feeling down and sad. They give me a sense of hope and relief from my frustrations. It used to work well for . Even researchers say that hearing music will reduce one's stress. Nowadays , workplaces are also having music and hearing it increases the productivity. In this modern world, music plays a very important part even in education and medicine. In fact ,in medicine there is a new branch of medicine called music therapy where diseases are cured by listening to the music. Those type of music are very inspirational and melodious. please rate this essay Some people live in a small town and others live in a big city. I would prefer to live in a big city. Living in a big city gives you exposure in many areas. In a way it improves one's knowlege. One can access many things easily. For example, During my childhood I was living in a small town where my exposure was very little apart from studies. When I moved to a city for higher studies, I learned lot of things apart from studies like using the computer and internet . I got the opportunity of joining in an organization I got many friends from different areas. Big cities have many entertainment features like cinema theatres and theme parks. So one can pass time in many ways whatever they want . But small towns don't have such facilities to enjoy. Unlike small towns , living in big cities have some disadvantages like traffic congestion, noise , pollution due to heave traffic and industry.
