  1. MORE THAN enough!! I do not know your background, but that might be overkill!! There is not that much to study...except for vocab ..but 3 months is a long time to memorize words!! I studied about 4 days before my test (not very good time management on my part) for about 2-3 hours each day, and managed to learn close to 750-1000 new words, and it worked out pretty well for me. but if you are that dedicated I say go for it! Good luck!
  2. Hey Bloodybyrd, I also got into Stanford for Management Science and Engineering!! Pretty cool:) ... I would say I would hope to see you there, except I think I am going to Columbia ..smiles, but Stanford is a great school .. congratz!
  3. Vipul, NYC is amazing for sooo many reasons. Its the epicenter of the United States! There is soooo much to do...and I can't explain it .. its more or less ineffable. I realize alot of people make their decisions based on prestige or reputation, but I think this decision comes down to gut feeling. My gut tells me I would have a better time at Columbia and in NYC. Also, I want to let everyone know that I have appreciated the support and advice from this board!
  4. Final results. Accepted: Stanford Columbia Cornell for MS in ORIE ... I know Stanford is the best school out of the 3, but I fell in love with NYC last week ... and I think that is where I am headed (ie. Columbia) :)
  5. The reason people rarely reveal the tough questions they found on the GRE is because before you take the exam the proctors make you sign a form that says you will not disclose any material found on the GRE ...or something to that effect.
  6. Hehe how did I make it? *shrugs* just very lucky and very thankful. I have to decide between Cornell and Columbia, and I think its going to be Columbia because I have always wanted to live in NYC!!

    Here is another way to look at the first one: 1/(1-.03) = 1/(97/100) = 100/97 1.03 = 103/100 100/97 = 1+3/97 1.03 = 1 + 3/100 3/97 > 3/100 so A.
  8. IN AT COLUMBIA!!![w00t][bounce][w00t][bounce] for Operations Research and Industrial Engineering.... YAY!! I am SOOOOOO excited!! got some calls to make .. just wanted to share on here:)
  9. Hehe sure, but I am by no means an expert:)
  10. Hey, sure my profile is as follows: Applied to: Cornell, Princeton, Stanford, Columbia, and UF. GRE: 800Q 670V 5.0 AWA 3.30 GPA at Cornell BS in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering 3.53 Degree GPA
  11. I applied for MS in IE&OR .. anyone heard anything from them yet...good or bad? Update: In at Cornell rejected at Princeton
  12. The ivy league colleges include: Cornell, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Dartmouth, Columbia, UPenn, and Brown. They are hard to get into because there are a ton of applicants for relatively few spaces. They are prestigious because if you can get into one of the "elite eight," it is like a verification that you are one of the brightest students in the United States (generally, ivy league students represent the top 1% of all students in the US). hope this helps.
  13. Me thinks Erin did not read the post :P:P I was thinking the same thing though Erin, its ok:)
  14. And of course as soon as I post I get the admission package:P .. No worries though I attended U-grad at Cornell so I prolly get my admissio notification alot earlier than anyone else.
  15. I got into the M. Eng program for Operations Research and Industrial Engineering at Cornell :) no more worrying if I will have anywhere to go..YAY!:)
