  1. Hi, Could you explain the link for this question? Thx 12. TEDIOUS: ENERGY:: (A) avaricious: satisfaction (B) fractious: irritation © disturbing: composure (D) improbable: ambition (E) informed: intelligence
  2. If it is control theory, MIT should be stronger. My understanding is that MIT has RA for all its students. Why don't you contact some professors. Good luck!
  3. Hi Gforce, They are PhD admits. Thank you for pointing this out and giving me comments :) BTW, thank you guys for voting. Please give some comments if you can. :D
  4. Hey Tmians! I need your input. Any input is fine! I got Michigan, Purdue, UT Austin and UCLA for communication and signal processing. (No aid for anyone of them.) If you know the strengths for these schools, please let me know. Thank you very much. :)
  5. I am still waiting as well. :( ... . Instead of being in trouble when I get an admit, like jerrymouse, getting an admit from Caltech will solve my problems.
  6. Here is what I think. UIUC -> Strong in computer architecture (and other fields) CMU -> Computer Architecture, EDA, VLSI. (and other fields) Cornell.... no idea...
  7. bio in MIT... hugh??? but bio in JHU.... WOW! Sorry, I am not in the field. All I know is that JHU should be the man in biology.
  8. If you are (1) capable of self-study and (2) not in dire need of financial aid, you should consider go to Stanford. I am sure someone else will benefit from the financial aid you pass over to them. Lastly, many Stanford PhD candidates making fortunes before they even graduate. I guess this is something closer to what you want.
  9. Hi Stanfordian, I got MS-only admit to Stanford EE. According to the rules I get, I have to file petition with written support from the faculty to take the qual. I have heard rumors that only one person passed the petition since MS-only started in 2003. Please could you verify this statistic? Thank you very much. Kfree ps. My goal is PhD studies, so I really want to know that I can opt for it.
  10. Guys, Could we add in Purdue as well :) What about UIUC, Purdue, UT Austin, and Rice?
  11. hi EEPHDWANNABE, Pls could you tell me when you received notification from UIUC? Thx.
  12. Erin, Could you make this thread sticky? I couldn't find it since a few weeks ago. :( And, thx HetEcon. Kfree
  13. Hi Anand, Could you show us your GPA? Thx.
  14. I'd say the interview went pretty well. :)
  15. I'd give Rice an excellent, though I am sure that you'd get an admit with fellowship for it because of your strong profile. Rice is the MIT of the south!
  16. Hey Dr. Watson.... God, I envy your admission to MIT! If I got one, I wouldn't even worry about girls at all! :) I am sure you will meet someone a million times better than your ex!! This is a personal belief: I will marry the girl most suitable for me. The ones in the past, or those who broke up with me, are just not the right ones.
  17. Hi, you should try working through our math forum and see if you can speed up your calculation speed. Lastly, applying this year with a decent GRE score, I am now doubting the "weight" of GRE scores in our application.
  18. Mega Admit!!! Fellowship!!! Congratulations!
  19. I don't believe it!!! This is CMU's lost!
  20. gforce, I know that you are an international student. You have contributed so much to this forum that I doubt anyone wouldn't notice. :) Anyway, I too am very sorry that you didn't make it into Berkeley. I was hoping that you would be one of those few international admitted. (Because of your great profile.) But anyways, don't feel bad, because there are very very very few admissions for international students in Berkeley this year.
  21. Hey guys, I too got a reject from Berkeley... EE of course. BTW, I've heard that Berkeley only gave a few admits to international students this year. So, if you are an international student, the admission rate is incredibly low.
