  2. In a certain pond, 50 fish were caught, tagged, and returned to the pond. A few days later, 50 fish were caught again, of which 2 were found to have been tagged. If the percent of tagged fish in the second catch approximates the percent of tagged fish in the pond, what is the approximate number of fish in the pond? (A) 400 (B) 625 © 1,250 (D) 2,500 (E) 10,000 Could somebody explain this. Thanks.
  3. Hi sgmat and chris123, It should be (a+b+c)/3 is an integer. Sorry for the confusion. Yes if its an even integer then c is the correct answer. Thanks.
  4. Hi VGMAT700, Its actually E. b=a+1, c=a+2 a+b+c = a+a+1+a+2=3a+3 (a+b+c)/3 = a+1 = b, which is an integer here. For some reason i didn't realize for abc, the 3 integers needs to be multiplied. i was considering it as 123 or 234 etc... Hence i was getting confused... it is clear now.. Thanks a lot.
  5. If a, b and c are consequtive positive intergers and a I. c-a = 2 II. abc is an even integer III. (a+b+c)/3 is an even integer A. I only B. II only C. I and II only D. II and III only E. I,II and III Can somebody please explain this. Thanks.
  6. E seems right as well... If not A, then no B If not B, then no C and If not C then no D So if not A, then no D Can somebody explain. Thanks.
  7. E seems right as well... If not A, then no B If not B, then no C and If not C then no D So if not A, then no D Can somebody explain. Thanks.
  8. Run time error 339 Component 'MsgHoo32.OCX'or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid. When i try to install the Kaplan CD on my computer i am getting the above error. Can anybody help me how to tackle this. I am no computer expert. I tried the one i know... i.e. uninstalling and trying it again. But the same error pops up. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  9. Hi nhy02, The links you have mentioned are very useful. Are there similar link for SC and CR as well? Thanks.
  10. Hi Meghago, It will be great if you have the soft copy of the Question Types. Thanks.
  11. In Official Guide 11, for the SC Section does anybody know which question falls under which pattern of the SC Rules?
  12. Could you give the answer from OA for this. Thanks
  13. Total Employees : 800 Long Term Employees : 70% * 800 = 560 If % needs to reduce to 60% , 60% * 800 = 480 So 560-480 = 80 of them will retire. Answer Choice : 4
  14. Of all 24 positive intergers all have unit digits of 5, (i.e 24*5 = 120) 1/3 has tens digit of 0 ( i.e. 1/3 * 24 = 8, 8 * 0 = 0 ) essentially no tens digits. Simillarly 1/3 has tens digit as 1 ( i.e 8 * 10 = 80) 1/3 has tens digit as 2 (i.e 8 * 20 = 160) Total = 120 + 0 + 80 + 160 = 360 Tens digit of the sum of 24 numbers is 6. Please correct if i am wrong here. Thanks.
  15. 4^1/2 = 2 4^1/4 = 1 and 4^1/3 should be greater than 1, So the answer is more than 4.
