  1. No I do not have a soft copy of the CR bible, but here is the link to buy it from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/GMAT-Critical-Reasoning-Bible-Comprehensive/dp/0972129634/sr=8-3/qid=1167786727/ref=sr_1_3/103-8928299-7080638?ie=UTF8&s=books I think this is the best book totally focussed on one thing: attacking CR problems on GMAT. The book is beautifully structured: first it helps you in identifying the premises and conclusion if there is one, then it moves on to solving each type of question. It divides the 10-11 CR question types into 3 families and systematically takes apart each type. It discusses bold face CRs towards the end and by the time you get there in the book, you will have gained enough knowledge to answer the bold face questions without any worries whatsoever.
  2. I am finally done with the exam!! The resources I have used are: CR: "The GMAT Critical Reasoning Bible: A Comprehensive System for Attacking the GMAT Critical Reasoning Questions" from PowerScore SC: Manhattan SC Guide Quant: 4Gmat books, High school math books to cover the basics. OG 11th edition, Paper tests. When I first started preparation I was a bit overconfident of solving CR problems and I was missing a few questions on every exam. It was quite clear that I needed to improve in the CR area and the CR bible was a great blessing. Special thanks to CTG1983 for mentioning this book in one of his posts. The book presented a systematic approach towards each problem type in CR. Manhattan SC guide was also a coherent collection of SC topics, mastery of which is absolutely essential. For RC, just regular reading of GMAT quality passages is sufficient. I cannot stress how important it is to go back to the passage to verify an answer for every RC question. The exam itself was quite an experience. I was able to finish Quant with 10 mins to spare. When I started prep I had to rush through to complete the last 5-6 questions. But after a lot of practice hours, I was able to overcome the problem. There were a quite a few logic type of questions so it is important to approach the problems with an open mind. Verbal was a mixed bag. It was tough, for me, to identify the correct answer on a couple of SC questions. CRs were quite easy perhaps because I had read the CR Bible cover to cover a couple of times and revised the important concepts several times. In fact after completing the book, bold face CRs were the easiest CR questions on the exam. I just wanted to thank the community for taking active interest in answering questions posted here. They were of great help. Good luck with your prep.
  3. I think B, which says that most geologists have performed accurate chemical analyses, leaving out the possibility that bacterial analyses have not been performed, thus giving hope that bacerial action could result in greater oil reserves.
  4. I think it is C IMO. The public is clearly anti-nuclear as is evident from the first sentence. But, the manager cities economic reasons for the closure and does not take into consideration public's view. THe reasons in E can be still be considered economic.
  5. E is the only one that addresses injuries/health issue
  6. E. Gave C some thought, but it says wider variety, not greater volume of supplies.
  7. Can you point out what is wrong with 5? Thanks.;)
  8. This appeared on the GPrep test that I took earlier today.
  9. By pressing a tiny amount of nitrogen between two diamonds to a pressure of 25 million pounds per square inch, scientists not only were able to transform the gas into a solid, but they also created a semiconductor similar to silicon. 1. 2. not only were able to transform the gas into a solid but also creating 3. were able not only to transform the gas into a solid but to create 4. were able not only to transform the gas into a solid but also creating 5. were not only able to transform the gas into a solid, but they were also able to create I would appreciate if anyone can list the not so common variations of idioms such as "not only x but also y"
