  1. did you get an unofficial test report? if yes, i do not think your score is cancelled.
  2. well i think what you can do is first take a practice gmat prep test. see how you score, if it is what you want or close to what you want then schedule the test, i would say give yourself 1 month. in this one month you can revise all concepts and techniques you learned, hone your SC,CR skills. Then take CATs and do sets. That should be sufficient.
  3. i could not complete both quant and verbal of a test on the same day. my scores are not quite representative. i will take a quant then be so tired to get to verbal the same day that i would take it next day. i did take one gmat prep at a stretch and got around 750, but again there were some repeats. you should take each test seriously and the same day with just 10 mins break in between sections. try doing some tests with awa, quant and verbal. i did not do so either, but you do not have to follow my example as i had some limitations. manhattan cats are great. again i took them at my pace. you can take princeton tests for practice but they do not represent actual gmat at all, i would say may be 20%. i think you should take computerized tests on weekends and do the sets on weekdays. try kaplan cat quant only, ignore verbal totally.
  4. Quant is difficult than og and gmat prep. verbal Scs are a little long, but more or less like gmat prep. rcs, crs like gmat prep. you will get only 10 mins break in between sections, but it takes 2 mins to enter and 2 mins to leave the room, as they do a palm check.so, b quick, i had lost 2 mins in quant but i did finish my section before 1 min. same for verbal section over before 1 min.
  5. For Rcs do the OG. For SCs do manhattan sc, 1000sc doc,OG. For DS OG 10 and manhattan CATs, repeat gmat prep. rcs in actual exam were like gmat prep. do the verbal sets.
  6. I took my GMAT today. I am happy with my score 680. Thanks to Erin,Bob and other GMAT takers who contribute to this forum. I used this forum for Quant and some for Sentence Correction. I started preparing for GMAT in Feb 2008, in march 2008 my husband and I decided to buy a house, so I had to quit studying for sometime and look for buying houses, so i could start studying again in july. Next my in-laws visited us for 4 months. they were very helpful but i wanted to spend some time with them so again studying was put on hold. They left in september and I resumed again in october but now, I and my husband decided to have a baby. So, I got pregnant in november 2008. Finally, I decided that there will always be something and I will keep procrastinating this exam. so, i finally decided to resume studying again in december but it was hard in the first trimester. It was very difficult for me to study as i used to be too tired from my pregnancy. However, I took the exam and am happy with my score. I am 7 months pregnant and I truly believe that with all the obstacles or distractions in my way, if i could do it any one can. So, if you believe in yourself you will be able to study and take the test. Also, I took only two days off before the exam as I have to save all my vacation for my maternity leave. Also, I sometimes suffer from insomnia (common symptom) in my pregnancy, another blessing..;) I did not sleep at all last night; not even for an hour. I want to stress this because if any of you did not get enough sleep before the exam, don’t worry or panic Just believe in yourself, tell yourself I can do it and take the exam. Do not worry that you might feel too tired during the exam. Another very important point do not study for more than 7 months. I think 5-6 months is more than sufficient. Now, I would not like to discuss my study pattern as my case was unique with a lot of starts and stops, but will tell you the resources and books I used. Books: OG 11 and 10, power score CR bible, manhattan sc Forums : testmagic Tests: Gmat prep, Princeton( not good), manhattan CAT tests( good) Other resources: sets, 1000sc, 1000 CR AWA: read some issues from a AWA doc I got from internet. I can upload it if anyone needs it. Day before exam: read some issues, and did some SC. Exam day: Finished AWA asap, with one min to spare in each section. Quant was always my forte so I did not prepare much. There were some inequality question, one probability, geometry, number theory, factors, did not see any GCD or LCM. Quant was definitely tougher than GMAT prep or OG so if quant is not your strength you might want to do some extra preparation. Verbal was ok very much like GMAT prep, OG and sets. Sets are good for verbal. I did not do sets quant. But I assume they will be good for practice. I did not prepare much for RCs, I just read the passage once and attacked the questions. For RCs I used OG and sets. If any one has any question, please feel free to ask here in the forum or send me a message.
  7. Shwetha, did you solve all the gmat club tests
  8. On a certain nonstop trip, Marta averaged x miles per hour for 2 hours and y miles per hour for the remaining 3 hours. What was her average speed, in miles per hour, for the entire trip? (1) 2x + 3y = 280 (2) y = x + 10
  9. i think a and b have to be integers for a^b=9
  10. but a,b>1 so ans shud be A
