  1. That is quite helpful. I guess when one thinks they have very little time, the questions become esaier, and when you have lot left than rest of the questions may be more difficult. At least that is what I understand.
  2. I would like to take my second PP test the day before the exam. Is that okay? or not advisable? Any help will be apprecaited.
  3. If you average your Kaplan scores and add 100 to it, you are pretty much around 720 (as PP).
  4. Komodo, I asked since I heard that PP scores are not good if one has doen [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] but in your case seems like they may have been.
  5. Except RC, I think only few questions are same. When I got some questions wrong and still could not figure out why I was wrong, I went to [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] to read explanatin and could not find them. Also, It is possible that one of the test (out of 9) has all the questions from [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] but as I said others have very few common questions. Erin can respond the best I think since he is well familiar with OG
  6. I forgot to ask you if you took PP after going thru OG?
  7. I agree with Erin. You write very well and if you can pour your heart out the same way in essays, you may get into any school you want. That is what I think.

    Need advice

I have been averaging around 720 in ETS paper based test (6 of them) and scored 770 in Powerprep. Can someone advise if I can go to take the actual test if I am targeting over 700. I have done [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] and did remember few Critical Resoning questions and kind of knew about one of the Reading Comprehneison while doing Powerprep (no wrong in quant and 4 wrong in verbal). I have read here that if you do [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] then PP score is not a predictor. Kindly advise. Any input will be appreciaed.
  9. I have an idea. how about gather all these score data on your board, get one of your software students make a score predictor and test it, keep refining it. hopefully will work, would be a service to yur students unless ets changes their algorithm again.
  10. Thanks quickdraw. That was very helpful. I guess it is not easy to figure out when one is ready since no software can predict.
  11. Thanks. is manhattan GMAT better than Kaplan?Arco?Princeton? Did you try any of these as well. I don't want to spend money if it falls in the same range of unreliable/too tough/not even close to actual. were your actual scores close to manhattans? Please advise since at I have heard about this CD for the first time. Also any advise as to taking any practice tests before the exam ( 1 day before don't take it, 2 day before don't take it..). Thanks.
  12. Also, I think you are right that test gets harder again during the middle. In practice test when I thought I had so much time left, I was struggling in the end since the test got harder in the middle and took away all my extra time (may be like a sinusoidal curve). So I guess we just can't get complascent thinking we have passed the barrier with the first 10 questions.
  13. Congrats. Great score. Did you find Manhattan GMAT good? I don't have any CAT practice tests as I have already done [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] and therefore PP will not give accurate score. Any thoughts? Also was it your first time? I work like you many many hours, so would like to know if you took the test in the evening? or took the day off and took it in the morning. Many Thanks.
  14. Arco cambridge test gave me a range rather than one score (670-690) with 46-48 in quant and 40-46 in verbal. Can someone help me figure this out i.e. is there any rough correlation to actual or paper based tests? Are these generally higher or lower than actual? Thanks
  15. Congratulations and nice suggestions. I have to agree with you about paper tests. I had requested members to post their paper test scores and with most of the responses I have seen so far, if you take average of those, their actual test scores were right around there. I was told that paper tests are still given in some countries so that may explain it. The only caveat is that some of the questions n paper tests are in [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] so we may have seen them already. Congrats again.
  16. Can someone share their 5.0 to 6.0 score AWA template? You can also email to gmat20034@yaoo.com. I appreciate this and would be a big help.
  17. Are the Arco CAT test good reflection/quality of actual test? what is the typical difference between their score and actual (i.e they are generally on lower side or higher side). Moderator edit: Moved to a more appropriate forum.
  18. I would like to know approx how many wrong (or %) wrong did you had in SC in OG? I can never get all of the right even in my 3rd attempt (44 wrong of 268). I am shooting above 700+.
  19. Congrats!!! Can you please post your all your ETS paper based test scores? Did you find that some of the questions from [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] were in paper tests and you remembered (especially the CR ones?).
  20. Recent: Actaul: N/A Test 37: 740 Test 48: 710 Test: 42: 730 Test 52: 710 Test: 25: 740 800score Test #3: 720 Past scores: Actual: 640 800score: 590 Princeton: 690, 670,710, 710 Kaplan: 550, 560, 620, 540 ETS Test #55: 660
  21. That 'sticky topic' is just great. Thanks a lot Erin.
  22. Hi Erin, Please help me explain as why someone who has successfully taken GMAT would visit this section of STUDYING FOR GMAT of your website :oand then see my question (they are the only one who can answer this right!!). Of course, there is that possibility that who have taken the test may never come back to the site even. Therefoere I do not agree with your moving this question [V]as you can see I posted a similar question here and did not get any response. Please consider moving it back[^]. Once responses are in, it would be a favor to all to move it back here for it to be very helpful :cool:to those still preparing. :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)
  23. I would like to know if ETS paper based test scores correalte to actual at all? these are the only tests I have left after I have improved (taken kaplan, pp before my actaul test where I didn't do very well , so won't make sense to take them again). Although Erin would like me to post this in GMAT prep forum, I believe people who have taken the test can provide this feedback better. The only thing I have heard so far is that paper based tests are still offered in many countries and may mean something? My 5 random paper based test scores are 710, 730, 730, 710 and 740 from set I,II and III. I only want to repeat my test once more and want to surely get over 700 this time. Thansk for your time. You can also email me at gmat20034@yahoo.com
  24. hellogmat, what did you score in yor ETS paper based tests?
  25. I thought you could not take test again in the same month?
