  1. Hi there. I stumbled across your posting. Boy, colossal growth. Kongrats bro. Quick question. Did you mean one practice packet every day OR all of the above packets every day ?
  2. What is the OA for this ? I am tempted by (B). Is (B) wrong ?
  3. According to scientists at the University of California, the pattern of changes that have occurred in human DNA over the millennia indicate the possibility that everyone alive today might be descended from a single female ancestor who lived in Africa sometime between 140,000 and 280,000 years ago. (A) indicate the possibility that everyone alive today might be descended from a single female ancestor who (B) indicate that everyone alive today might possibly be a descendant of a single female ancestor who had © may indicate that everyone alive today has descended from a single female ancestor who had ???(D) indicates that everyone alive today may be a descendant of a single female ancestor who (E) indicates that everyone alive today might be a descendant from a single female ancestor who OA is Why isn't E correct ?
  4. According to some analysts, whatever its merits, the proposal to tax away all capital gains on short-term investments would, if enacted, have a disastrous effect on Wall Street trading and employment. (A) its merits, the proposal to tax (B) its merits may be, the proposal of taxing © its merits as a proposal, taxing (D) the proposal’s merits, to tax (E) the proposal’s merits are, taxing OA is Why isn't B correct ?
  5. Look at 2 things here and try to answer the below 1. 'What' surrounds the valley 2. 'What' bustles with farmers the patchwork (singular) surrounds the valley the town (singular) bustles with farmers So that eliminates A, C, D.... Then look for pronoun conformity '...farm workers, many' ????? are in the area for ...... (E) many are in the area is wrong, because (B) properly references 'many of whom' to the 'farm workers' so, (B) is correct. skywalker, what is the OA ?
  6. Is'nt (E) the OA ?? 10y+x-(10x+y) = 9 10y+x-10x-y = 9 9y-9x = 9 y = 1+x
  7. Hey Orange08, I am new to this forum. What do you mean or refer while saying 'sets from 21-31' ?
  8. Hi ptumati, I got little confused by your explanation above. While considering x=2 (2^3).(2^y) = 2^(3+y) So, wont the number of factors be 3+y+1 ? so number of factors varies with respect to x's value. So, 2 statements together answer the question. Let me know if I am wrong. -- Ciao
  9. Hi Orange, Find attached the doc from Clintonn's posting on inequalities. Check this URL that I found - it has basic inequalities & all other algebra topics. [http://www.sosmath.com/algebra/algebra.html] -- Ciao.
  10. That's tricky. Anshugupta, any clue on the OA ?
  11. I think 25. Please check if my approach is correct. Assuming 'x' is the original number of workers & 'p' is rate of each worker, Stmt I : x/p = 1/12 => p=12x Stmt II : (x-5)/p = 1/15 => 15(x-5)=p equating both, 15x-75=12x or x=25 What is the OA ?
  12. Hi Junta, Though I feel I know basic inequalities concepts, when sitting down for tests [PS or DS questions], I get them wrong. Is there any good source for studing and practising this question type ? :hmm: -- Ciao
