Hey guys, Took my GMAT and scored badly at maths.... Could you please help- 1.I did review from Kaplan ( some file from esnips) and PR . (But then while doing questions, realised most of the topic weren't even taken up there) 2. OG XI ed 3. Gprep .. (took the tests 6 times) Now please tell me, to improve my score and my understanding of the subject, should I rely on- 1. Sets 21-31 and 2. Manhattan archive. Will they suffice?

WOW !!! Know what ..jus in a day I feel like retaking it. Btw..when can I do that.. (they require some 2 months/ weeks time , before I can retake) and Aqueel, thanks for your help. I am indeed BAD at maths and for the GMAT besides Review from couple of books jus' did OG XI. so guess didn't prepare for it much, though I should have. What do you advise??? Hey Guys.. Thank you so so much. Your scraps are indeed encouraging. I guess I never expected such a bad score.. so it was a big blow. After i couldn't answer that probability thing.. my mind went blank. anyways, I can't retake it now.. as I am getting married this november and haven't yet started my wedding prep... One more thing pls advise whether doing MBA from Cal State Univ.. is a Bad Idea??? And truly guys, I am so happy to have you all around to motivate and encourage me..Thank you tons. -Shivangi

Hmm Surya, God knows what happened? I guess it all started with that 6th question.. it seemed to be easy probability but I jus couldnt' get the right answer. And it was like.. "lemme give it one more shot". and then again there was a pretty difficult question.. I TRULY LACKED TIME MANAGEMENT. Imagine I didn't answer more than 10 questions. The last Gprep I took.. I got a 680.Further my choice of Schools is also limited -only one good school- Berkeley. the other are state univs in and around San Frans. (Thats where I'll be putting up) I was so sure I would make it- Have a 3 year work ex, that too as a C.S. supervised every department- Taxation/ law, Good academic record. But now it seem all screwed up. Anyways Guys one thing Verbal isn't that difficult. I thought u get 3 RC passages.. however I got 4 (even in Verbal I could jus answer 39). But again they weren't that difficult. Sentence corrections were indeed tricky but I would say just follow the forum.. and thats it. I am feeling so stupid.. Telling you guys whats best with such a bad score. But anyways.. CHEERS

Hello guys, So i took the test this Monday..as it says I scored a 550. Actual to begin with AWA was good. Quantitative was fine till q6. 6th one was a probability, and spent 6 minutes on it.. then gave up..again answered few.. and got stuck on another one. while solving 27th the time lapsed......... Verbal was okay.. anyways guys I feel somehow.. GMAT is not my cup of tea.. and MATHS...sucks. Never in my life, have I performed so badly in any test and now completely give up. But yeah.. thanks to all of you.. you all have been great. I wish you all, the best for your test. -Shivangi

What i wanted to know was- A group of students who have begun to clean up Frederick Law Olmstead's Morning side Park in New York City believes that the park needs not to be redesigned but to be returned to its former condition Will believe also follows the rule. This sentence suggests.. a group (from several students who have started cleaning).. believes/ OR a group (from several students who have started cleaning Believe).. Anyways As i jus wrote this I got my answer. Thanks

I did it this way- Prob of choosing atleast 1 fashion mag= 1- prob of choosing none fashion. Therefore 1 st sport magazine-4/8=1/2 2nd Sport Mag=3/7 3 sport mag=2/6=1/3 1/2*3/7*1/3=1/14 therefore prob of Atleast 1= 1-1/14=13/14
