  1. Hi Aurelius, Thanks for the suggestion. PP breakdown: V - 630 & Q - 590 (1220 total not 1230). Have not found Big Book yet in the library. What is PR? Today begins the GRE prep for late June test. Along with the other books, I have GRE exam Advanced Verbal from Kaplan, Math Book from Kaplan, and online and PP practice test. PP is not the most recent one. Will this still be a good practice source? Thanks again.
  2. Two years ago, took GRE and finally got it to 940. Had been studying a lot more at least 3-5 days a week with at least 3-4 hours a day for 2 1/2 moths. Learned lots of new words. Took PP test and finally got 1230. That was unheard of for me. But took the test yesterday, and got a 820. What was wrong with that? I got two Verbal sections. One looked like it's a newer format where you had to choose two words in sentence completion. This Verbal portion did not say it was a research. So the question is, how do I know which one was scored or not? The first Verbal portion seemed to be a lot easier but I still got 310. I did not expect this especially I had been studying a lot. There are three books I used for this prep: Barron 2008, Cracking the GRE 2010, and ETS, 10th edition. I also used Victory book from the GRE class I took. At this point, I have not signed up for the test again next month. What else should I do to really get to the PP score I got? Need your advise. Thanks.
  3. Hi anubhuti, There is a release form that GRE takers had to sign. We agreed not to share questions to anyone. Sorry...
  4. Congratulations AthenaQ! Job well done! I am glad that you mentioned you used Kaplan's GRE & GMAT Math Workbook. I posted a question if anyone thought this book was helpful but unfortunately no one answered. Best wishes and it's time to celebrate.
  5. Hi FilleNouvelle, I posted this question before. Here is the link: http://www.www.urch.com/forums/gre-math/95162-ratio-problem-powerprep.html Hope it helps.
  6. Congratulations, canadamike! Best wishes. How long have you prepared for the exam?
  7. Congratulations! Best wishes in your future plans. How do you know that there was an optional questions? Did it tell you it was optional only? I was just curious. BTW, how did you prepare since you said that you did not use word lists for verbal? Thanks.
  8. A gram of carbohydrates has 4 calories. A gram of fat has 9 calories. x does not equal to 0 Col A: The number of grams of carbohydrates that has x calories. Col B: The number of grams of fat that has x calories. thanks.

    Geometry problem

Lookingahead, thank you for the explanation. I got rid of the other factors of 24 because they were
  10. A set of rectangles consists of exactly one rectangle of each possible size such that for each rectangle the area is 24 and the length and width are integers Col A The proportion of the rectangles in the set that have perimeter greater than 25 Col B .5 This is my understanding: Please let me know if I am even close. I need a rectangle that has an area of 24. (2 + 12 + 2 +12)--when added it is greater than 25. Another rectangle would be (24 +1 +24 +1). This would be 25/50 = .56 If I compare it with Col B, .56 is greater than .5. But if it's 50/28, then I would get 1.7 so please help. Thanks.
  11. May you please share the trick in getting the area of a circle, square, rectangle, etc of a shaded region? I know the formula for area (perimeter, circumference and such) but what is the best way of solving these types of problems? Thank you. Your explanation is appreciated.
  12. Happy Sunday Everyone (at least it's Sunday where I am)! I got this Kaplan GRE and GMAT Exams Math Workbook from my local library. Has anyone used this yet? If you have, was it helpful? Let me know what you think. Thank you.
  13. May you explain this a bit more please? I am not following the logic. Thanks.
  14. Hey Nix, Congratulations! Awesome score after 3 weeks of preparation. Best wishes.
  15. niravshah, congratulations and best wishes.
