hi GRE pupil..ive been extremely busy with my application procedure and some other issues related to visa..thats why im not able to post more..i called up the universities today and they said they havent received my scores.

there is nothing wrong with the score..dont listen to others..there are 3500 unis in usa..

She did not enter on a F-1 or a tourist visa. Her husband was working over there already and that's how she went. She went on a dependent visa. Then she found job over there. But personally speaking, I don't have any intention of immigrating as such to USA. I've already told my parents are old. My father is going to retire from his job within 5 years. Plus, they have a property(a house) which needs to be taken care of. Also, although I'm going for a computer science degree, my main intention is to go into research work or academia here in india. I've already developed contacts in ISRO(Indian space research organization) and IIT(Indian Institute of Technology), for the same purpose. Both are top institutions in this country. The institute that I've chosen and the university that I want to attend are in different counties, different cities. Given my past health problems, I think it is better if I stay close to her in case some emergency occurs. Also, I don't wish to attend some high ranked university which is over loaded with students. The university that have chosen have few students in each program[20-60].

1. Is true. But personally speaking, I'm interested in getting into a philadelphia university. The number of students/per program is quite less. I don't see the point in attending a great university with 200 students packed in every class. 2. Not really, although my GRE score is ok but I don't have a very high Quantitative score( 750) as compared to what many students applying to good universities in CS have(over 770-780). Another thing is, my GPA is not very great and my record of extracurricular activities is nearly nill. These things do matter a lot. West Chester may not be a very good university but I do think villanova is decent as I've seen many people with similar profile go over there. I might just get some aid over there. 3. I'm going next year, there is little time for any kind of treatment. 4. i will think about it.

Hello, I want to apply for MS in computer science in fall 2008. My sister is on an EAD(shes in the process of getting a green card). She is living outside the philadelphia city but working in philadelphia as a software engineer. She is married. I want to apply to universities in philadelphia so that I can live with her. I've certain health issues including anxiety which prevents me from applying to certain universities with huge crowds. This is also one of the reasons why I want to live with my sister. Some of the universities that I've applied are 1. West Chester, PA 2. Drexel, PA 3. Villanova, PA I'm also intending to apply to other universities outside pennsylvania just for the sake of applying. My score is 1320 btw(750 Q and 570 V). But my profile is such that I've very high likelihood of getting into Villanova or West Chester[ because of my poor extracurricular record]. Drexel seems to be a tough bet. Villanova and West chester are not very high ranked universities but they are decent, especially Villanova, from some research that I've done. I really want to attend these universities as there are lesser poeple, there are on campus jobs and I can get some support from my sister. Do you think the visa officer would stop me ? My sister isn't really living in Philadelphia actually. She is in a consultant job so she is constantly moving. 6 months ago she was in Virginia, before that she was in New jersey etc. I intend to come back after my MS because my parents are old and my sister is not here so I need to come back. Plus, my parents have some property and house which must be taken care of. So I'm in a real dilemma as to what I should do. Please help me.

what hes saying about hyper nervous Indian students is absolutely true. Its pathetic actually. And none of them would settle for a score less than 1400 or a university which ranks

I need some kind of help from you guys. I'm planning for MS CS in fall 2008. After my GRE exam was over, I decided to send my scores to 4 universities respective ocmputer departments. HOwever there seems to be a slight problem. When I chose a university say XYZ and then the department( which is computer science), I was further asked to choose from a variety of programs available : Computer Programming Security Web Technology Information Science System Analysis I chose computer programming for all 4 universities, but now when I'm browsing the websites of these universities, I can't seem to find these programs. All I can see is " Masters in Computer Science" . Please help me. Has any one else experienced this ?

ok os i gave my GRE on 16th october and i sent the scores to 4 universities..i chose the department(computer for all) and a program( computer programming) in all universities..but now when i am looking at the websities of these universities, i cant see those programs! I'm quite nervous..please tell me is there any way to verify what universities and programs i had applied to on the day of test ??? I was very ill during the test and so i just wanted to get out of the place and this is why i think i made a couple of mistakes...please help me..how do i see my score and unis i applied to ???

I was quizzed on number theory, probability and triangles a lot. One new phenomenon that I noticed is that they are mixing various concepts like they were testing probability concepts in data interpretation and geometry.

I must say BARRONS is the best GRE book out there. I was really shocked to see that almost all words except 1 were from barrons and the maths questions are also quite similar to the ones given in the book. Quant section is quite easy but the the problem is the time constraint.

Get some audio tapes of those words. With audio tapes, i was able to learn 4 wordlists a day in short span. Let me tell you one thing, learning the word list is the SOLE factor that determines your verbal score. I'm speaking from personal experience. If you are well versed with words, then 9 antonyms, 7 analogies and even the 6 sentence completions will be a breeze giving you more time for RC and it will also give you a higher score.
