I would suggest.... Eliminating the option containing being would be the last step in any SC that contains being... GMAT has started making options containing being right but making other options grammatically wrong..

U need to express contrast. So yet should be used. cells beat in unison BUT adopt orientations exclusive of one another. So, contrast is required. and indicates continuity of thoughts. while indicates simultaneity...

Go with singular verb when you have none. Just search None in the pdf of OG12 and you will see that GMAT uses singular verb after noun. None of my friends has been to USA -> Not a single friend of mine has been to USA. If no one has been, then how can you choose plural. Has to be Singular..HTH

Pronoun they/their must refer to plural nouns. N there are no plural nouns present in the sentence. The sentence is testing ||sm... So, you can join the two parts the way you mentioned...

Hi, Pls suggest me is there any alternate way to solve below problem... Victor's job is to complete series of identical jobs. If victor is supervised at work, he finishes each job three days faster than if he is unsupervised. If Victor works for 144 days and is supervised for half the time, he will finish a total of 36 jobs. How long would it take Victor to complete 10 jobs without any supervision? A. 34 B. 52 C. 60 D. 70 E. 92 What i did was....I split 144 into two parts..72 days supervised and 72 days unsupervised. Then I split 36 into two parts such that after I split 36, 72 should be divisible by the resulting two parts. So, I split 36 as 24 n 12. So, 24 parts he worked when he was supervised and 12 parts he worked when he was unsupervised. So, 3 days (72/24) he took to complete 1 job when he was supervised and 6 days (72/12) when he was unsupervised. So, to complete 10 jobs when not supervised, he would take 60 days to complete (10*6) . The correct answer is 60. But I want to know better approach..

We dont have subjunctive here... so i dont think that is not required. Moreover, i think we have the need as a noun and not as a verb.. experts pls confirm..

A subjunctive verb should be followed by that and an infinitive verb without the word to... as there is some sort of uncertainty as to how the opposite party will react...so should can never be used.... The best possible constructions possible with the verb require are requires that/require X to Y... The first is subjunctive and the second one is the normal idiom... B maintains the subjunctive construction but unenecessarily uses passive voice construction... C/D are awkward... E follows the idiom require x to y and express the thought in the best possible way!!

Just want to add a note for the otion B... B. it does not expect payments when it is The first it refers to bank...Till here we dont have any problem... But when the pronouns are repeated on GMAT, then the repeated pronoun refers to the same noun to which the earlier noun refers to...So, we have second it referring to bank...So the option says something like this: Bank does not expect payments when bank is due...And this is not surely what author intended... C corrects this problem by replacing it by they, which refer to the pronoun payments... aaadith..OA can not be E as payments to be paid is simple redundent!!

I too went for B...The rule is V>A>N....GMAT prefers Verb to adverb/adjective and adverb/adjective to noun... Avoidance is a noun and avoiding is clearly a verb.. So A is gone...The construction if only because is just simple awkward... unnecessary usage of that and should in C and D.... So B...

I disagree with the OA for first q... Its D..I am banking on manhattan guide though.... :)
