  1. in D, the use of "and" changes the meaning. E it is .
  2. The following pattern should be used here. One of the [plural noun] + that/who + plural verb e.g X is one of the Y that are ...... Subject-verb agreement should be in between Y and the verb but not X and the verb.
  3. I'll go with B. As the number of people is equal to the number of slices of cake, if we know that atleast 1 person ate 2 slices that is good enough to say that everyone who attended the party did not eat a slice. Choice A does not specifically give any information, whereas, Choice B does. If fewer than 20 people ate more than 1 slice of cake, then one or mmore people might not have eaten a slice.
  4. Lanas - Good luck with your preparation and future endeavors....
  5. Thanks for the response guys. Lanas - What you mentioned was the plan that I originally had in my mind. I have some options open right now and my gmat score, which I will see in 2 weeks, will decide which option I'll go with. I already have 5 years of work-ex in IT consulting with a Masters in Comp. Science from UMass. I am thinking that an MBA from a great school combined with my background will open a lot of doors for me....Should see how it will turn out...
  6. A it is imo.... The question says, "when the source of a sound is in motion relative to the observer". So, C, D, E can be eliminated. After they pass each other, the trains will move away from each other. Hence B, can be eliminated. That leaves us with A.
  7. The price the government pays for standard weapons purchsed from military contractors is determined by a pricing method called "historical costing." Historical costing allows contractors to protect their profits by adding a percentage increase, based on the current rate of inflation, to the previous year's contractual price. Which of the following statements, if true, is the best basis for a criticism of historical costing as an economically sound pricing method for military contracts? A) The government might continue to pay for past inefficient use of funds. B) The rate of inflation has varied considerably over the past twenty years. C)The contractual price will be greatly affected by the cost of materials used for the products. D) Many taxpayers question the amount of money the government spends on military contracts. E) The pricing method based on historical costing might not encourage the development of innovative weapons.
  8. I am taking gmat 2 weeks from today. However, because of personal reasons, I have decided to apply for a B-School only after 2 years. I understand that the score is valid for 5 years, but I am curious if B-Schools, 2 years from now will take into consideration the fact that I had taken GMAT in 2007 (even though my score will be still valid) and if that will affect my chance of admission in any way. Appreciate if anyone provides any feeback / insight into my question.
