  1. Ya i got everything but the last page...is there any way you can send that to me?
  2. Do you have the answers for the 94' test? I only have the questions.
  3. I wouldn't completely skip studying the genetics portion. I know there's alot of overlap between the subjects but there are some parts of genetics like map distances and recombo freq that you wont get from the other books. Besides from what Ive heard the gre prep book is useless(not even 1 question) from the test is on the exam. Anyway, I do hope what you're studying works out for you.
  4. I finished with the Cell Bio book (Alberts 4th). I'm actually most worried about the Biochem part, Im using the Voet and Voet 2nd ed. and testing myself with random usmle questions I found. If you want email me at bmbgre@gmail.com maybe we can swap any questions, strats(I think it's faster than emailing posting through here). Good Luck
  5. yup i'm takin it the 12th too. How are you going about studying for the exam?
  6. In neurons, inhibition of the Na+/K+ (atpase) occurs when introduced with ouabain; which one of these would be the correct result? a: slow depolarization b: slow hyperpolarization c: an action pot. d: an inhibitory postsynaptic potential e: electrotonic current spread I would say D, but I'm not sure....could it be B? Anyone out there know the answer?
  7. Yes actually that helps alots, i didn't figure in the reverse. Maybe you can help me with this one too. The question is: The recognition site of the restriction endo is CpyCGpuG where py and pu are pyrimidines and purines. What is the expected avg distange, in nucleotide pairs, between cleavage sites in a random DNA seq. I figured it would just be 1/(4x4x4x4x4x4) = 1/4,906 But the answer booklet says it's 1,024 What's wrong with my approach?
  8. This is a question on the practice exam: #60 It talks about inserting a gene and what the chance of an in-frame fusion would be: the answer book says it is D 1/6 but why isn't it 1/3? Can anyone help?
  9. and on a side note...does anyone know what "in-frame fusion is"?
  10. So I'm not sure I'm allowed to post this but I was wondering if anyone had the answers to the 1994 Biochem GRE pratice/real test. I have the actual test but no way to check if what I answered was right. Thx in advance.
