  1. In the first page of this thread, Clintonn explains why his thread was shut down http://www.www.urch.com/forums/just-finished-my-gmat/71815-720-gmat-500-720-q48-v41-95-a.html

  3. Congratulations, gschmilinsky it's good to hear from you I read so many of your posts in my prep for the GMAT. I got an 720 in December and I want to thank you for all your help. It's good to see that some of the old users come back.
  4. anil007, You take the MGMAT tests over the Internet, there is no software to download. Go buy a book by Manhattan GMAT and you can take the tests for free.
  5. namitb, Michigan and Broad are two different schools What GMATbong meant is Michigan State - The Eli Broad School or Michigan - Ross?
  6. ikchicago I have only OG11, I cannot say anything about OG10. I never read any newspapers or articles for AWA or RCs. I just focused a lot on RCs and made sure I understand the text regardless of the time constraints. And for AWA there are lots of templates out there. For everything else, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE,
  7. ikchicago, Don't let anybody tell you what you cannot do. Anybody can score in the 700's, it just depends how much effort you are willing to put in. My advice is to not try to expand your collection of material before you make sure you deeply understand what you have study so far. Don't go broad, go deep. You don't get higher score by reading more books but by understanding them better. Go buy Manhattan Sentence Correction and you will get 6 online practice tests that will help you with your timing. Yes, you can time yourself, but do that in chunks of questions, for example 10 Qs - 20 min; some may be answered quickly, some more slowly. Don't rush it beyond your comfort level to begin with, let the timing come by itself with more practice.
  8. sandeep 142 You have the answer in your own question... lack of concentration. You can study a lot but without concentration you will not perform as well as you could. I never used any special strategy for CRs, I just focused on them.
  9. zuckerman, Once you install the GMATPrep, you'll see the program comes with a couple of tests. Those test you can take more that once.

  11. Kaplan CAT1: 590 Kaplan CAT1: 610 Kaplan CAT1: 630 Real GMAT: 720 I don't know about the Kaplan practice test, but if it as as hard as the CAT tests you are in good shape. Take a GMATPrep test if you want to know where you are at. After that, take some MGMAT tests, they are second best.
  12. PersianPhoenix, I did all the OG11 questions before doing anything else and also just before taking the test. All other prep material tries to imitate the OG, but it doesn't. My advise, do the OG questions over and over again until you understand why the wrong choices are wrong.
  13. biddle50, I created my own templates. I read a lot a essays samples and created about three different introductions and conclusions and few paragraph structures - I thought not all the issues or arguments would fit the same template. But frankly, I read so many essays samples, that all those key words snd structures were stuck on my head and the essays came out naturally. I even found myself tempted in the real world to use words like additionally, furthermore, fallacy... crazy.
  14. Thanks Javedhp, ihavetodoit Kannn, I never had problems with timing in any of my practice tests or the real test. I always tried to leave 2 minutes for each questions in each section. For quant I had to slow down during practice test and and use every minute available. I didn't use any tactics of dividing a certain number of questions in 3 groups of 25 minutes, as dificulty level would make that inneficient and if you get a couple RCs in a row, it can throw you off. Also, in quant, the first half is more difficult, I think in the second half you get more experimental quesions from the easier bin, so you can be faster. This is another reason why you should dedicate more time to the first 10-15 questions. What worked for me in the RCs was understanding the passage after the first reading even if that meant going back and reread some sentences. If you do that, some of the answers would become obvious right away. I discovered that with skimming, I always had to go back repedetly and that slowed me down. Same tactic I used with CRs, I made sure I fully understood the question, and SCs should save you some time.
