  5. Looks like the score you get on the actual test was very close to that you get during you preparation. 1st: 650 (Q49, V29 (5 mistakes in the first 10qs)) 2nd: 660 (Q49, V30) (took this on saturday). On the test and then 650 on the actual exam. I think you should not be disappointed by your results as they reflect your level. Now, bose is right, and I'm sure that you can improve some parts of this exam to get a better score. Good luck
  6. Exactly and they do this for two obvious reasons. 1- If you score 590 at their tests, you're gonna think that you desperately need their services... and pay the price for that. 2- After paying their sessions, you will certainly score higher at the real exam. You're gonna think : from 590 to 700. woow this kaplan session is very good. Bottom line, this is their best marketing option to score you very low...
  7. I got a template for the writing section. I scored a perfect 30 in the writing section with it. Here is the writing template : www.www.urch.com/forums/gmat-awa/11608-magic-template.html Basically, I wrote about 350 words for the integrated task and about 500 words for the essay. This template is a great guidance. Use it and tell me how many points you won thanks to it. http://www.www.urch.com/forums/../images/smilies/smile.gif NB: It also really helped me to score AWA 5.5 for the GMAT as I didn't spend time to figure out how to structure my essay. As a result, I spent time only on the strength of my arguments. Hope this helps.
  8. This is the eternal debate. Check in this forum you'll find a lot of answers to your question. BTW, good score.
  9. Congrats for your score Jocatst. I'm in a same boat as you for a place in a Top B-school. Good luck for you application !
  10. I took the exam on July 11th and I had my results yesterday : 114 (R29,L29,S26,W30)
  11. Quick update. I retook the TOEFL July on 11th (in reality I took this session without knowing my 109 score) and fortunately improved my score. 114 Ibt (r29,l29,s26,w30) Reading=29 Listening=29 speaking=26 Writing=30 Still a "weakness" in speaking but let's say that it's due to my accent :)
  12. 1) The minimum product that you can a have is for h=r=0. So, the minimum is 408*60 = 24480. -> You can eliminate A and B The maximum product that you can a have is for h=r=9. So, the maximum is 498*69= 34362. -> You can eliminate E. At this point only C and D remain. 2) C cannot be the solution because there is no multiple of 8 that ends with a 5. Only D remain.
  13. For the reading I used two books : Barron's TOEFL IBT internet-Based Test 2007 Cambridge Preparation for the TOEFL Test. (CD ROM) I used more intensively the Cambridge book because the CD ROM gives a good exam-like environment (time-limited and interactive). For the pleasure, I like to read the Newsweek magazine.

  15. Hello, I've just received my score. Reading=29, Listening=29 speaking=23 Writing=28 I satisfied with the reading, listening and writing sections. But as you can see, there is a black sheep. Do you guys know if this 23 in the speaking section can hurt for an application at a top MBA ? Thanks. ps: for the writing I used Erin's template. It's very good.
