1. these are the OAs:

D A E B C

E A

6 - some economist suggest is necessary - Some economists have suggested that giving away free shares would provide a needed acceleration of the privatization process missed 5 and 6. Took 30 mins, really :(
2. I feel the answer is C. If B, What alternative is suggested? "businesses must develop a new systemic approach that reduces total material use and total accumulated waste'. it is not said what the "new" approach should be. am I right?
3. I too reasoned out A as mid twentieth did not seem like recent. but i realized that other options were nowhere near and that this article could be an old one, no one knows. so, I settled back with A. Unusually, I got it right :):triumphant:
4. 'it' does not refer to anything in this sentence. I am not very good at grammar as well. i checked the dictionary. It | Define It at Dictionary.com (used to represent a concept or abstract idea understood or previously stated): It all started with Adam and Eve. He has been taught to believe it all his life. 6. (used as the impersonal subject of the verb to be, especially to refer to time, distance, or the weather): It is six o'clock. It is five miles to town. It was foggy.
5. its seems "police were" is better. police - Definition from Longman English Dictionary Online ! Police is a plural noun. Do not say 'a police'. Say a police officer, a policeman, or a policewoman: The police were called. | A police officer came.
6. No one could be as happy as me No one could be as happy as I No one could be as happy as I am - this sounds the best. I dont understand why I would be the object here... My understanding of object is SVO (Subject-Verb-Object) . Subject does something (as said by VERB), object recieves it. example: that(S) must be (V) him (O) here, him seems to be the object. but in No one could be as happy as I - there does not seem to be a object. please feel free to correct me. I am unable to answer the last one: No one in this class has done the homework but me or No one in this class has done the homework but I. My father is still taller than she or My father is still taller than her. - Correct
7. My answer is D as well. I thought it had to be exhibit, so eliminated A and B. I thought "a preference" was better than "the preference", so eliminated E. between C and D - I did not know "preference in" or "preference for" was right. I thought "either using the right or the left hand " was better than "using either the right or the left hand " this was my reasoning...
8. OA is C. I answered D. I was stuck between C and D. Somehow I liked C ( thought it was better parallel). Manhattan seems to think "growing them naturally" does not make sense. if we are growing them, it cannot be natural :). I understand, but I dont think I can come up with this thought on the exam day :(
9. I think it is D as well... my reasoning - 'and that' in the sentence suits very much with 'indicate that'
10. i think it should be D it is a genearalisation...
11. like is used to compare nouns. so let us rule out C. A sounds best to me. OA please....
12. 2 sets, 2 OA's? is not having legal limits a circumstance?
13. oh, now I see my mistake. B is wrong. it should be D
